ITC Hotels Ltd has signed a management agreement with Orions Hospitality for the development of Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui, a 117-key property in Uttarakhand. The agreement expands the hospitality company's presence in the state as Dehradun continues to witness growth in business travel, tourism and destination events. The project will be managed under the Welcomhotel brand and is intended to cater to the evolving accommodation requirements of corporate and leisure travellers while strengthening ITC Hotels' portfolio in northern India.
ITC Hotels Ltd has entered into a management agreement with Orions Hospitality for the development of Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui, a 117-key hotel in Dehradun, further expanding its hospitality portfolio in Uttarakhand. The agreement was announced during the past week as the company continues to strengthen its presence across key business and leisure destinations.
The proposed property will be developed under the Welcomhotel brand and managed by ITC Hotels. The project is expected to cater to the increasing demand for quality hospitality infrastructure in Dehradun, which has emerged as an important destination for both corporate travel and tourism.
According to the company, the addition of Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui will enhance its footprint in Uttarakhand, where demand for organised hospitality assets has been growing alongside improved connectivity, tourism activity and commercial development.
Managing Director Anil Chadha said Dehradun represented a natural expansion opportunity for the Welcomhotel brand as the city continued to develop as a destination for both business and leisure travel. He indicated that the project aligns with the company's strategy of strengthening its presence in high-growth hospitality markets across the country.
Rashmi Garg, Proprietor of Orions Hospitality, said the development was envisioned as a hotel that would address the changing requirements of travellers while also meeting the growing demand for destination events. The project is expected to serve a broad mix of guests, including corporate visitors, leisure travellers and those attending social and business functions.
Management agreements have become an increasingly preferred expansion model for hospitality companies, enabling hotel operators to extend their brand presence without direct ownership of assets. Under such arrangements, property owners develop the hotel while the operator oversees branding, management and operational standards.
The signing of the Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui agreement adds another hospitality project to ITC Hotels' managed portfolio as it continues to expand across key urban and tourism markets. The development also reflects sustained investment in hotel infrastructure in Uttarakhand, where growing tourism activity and destination-led travel continue to support demand for branded accommodation.
