NABARD has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Rajasthan's rural development through infrastructure, agriculture and financial inclusion initiatives. At its Foundation Day event in Jaipur, state officials highlighted the institution's contribution to rural growth and its role in achieving Rajasthan's long-term development goals. The bank also emphasised women-led financial inclusion, support for small and marginal farmers, and climate-resilient agriculture. During the programme, NABARD released publications on its work in the state, honoured key rural institutions and sanctioned grants for projects promoting sustainable farming.

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Rajasthan's rural infrastructure and agricultural development, with state officials recognising the institution as a key partner in achieving the state's long-term development goals.
Speaking at NABARD's Foundation Day celebrations in Jaipur, Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas said the institution has played an important role in strengthening the state's rural economy and agricultural sector over the years. He added that NABARD would continue to remain a key partner in helping Rajasthan achieve its vision of becoming a developed state by 2047.
Highlighting the importance of inclusive rural development, Srinivas referred to the United Nations' declaration of 2026 as the International Year of the Woman Farmer and said the recognition underlines the need to further strengthen women's empowerment and build a more inclusive rural financial system.
NABARD Deputy Managing Director Rakesh Kashyap said the bank's strategic priorities are aligned with the Central government's rural development agenda. He stated that NABARD has consistently worked with the Rajasthan government to improve rural infrastructure and expand development initiatives across the state.
Kashyap further said the institution has supported small and marginal farmers through several flagship initiatives, including the Kisan Credit Card scheme, Farmers' Clubs and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs). He added that the Self-Help Group-Bank Linkage Programme has significantly improved financial inclusion among rural women by expanding access to formal banking services and credit.
He also said NABARD has been working to help farmers address the challenges posed by climate change by promoting sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices. In recent years, the institution has increased its focus on climate adaptation, natural resource management and sustainable rural livelihoods as part of its broader rural development strategy.
During the event, NABARD released two publications titled 'NABARD in Rajasthan – Achievements 2025–26' and 'Transforming Rural Rajasthan', which documents success stories and development initiatives undertaken across the state.
The programme also recognised the contribution of outstanding Farmer Producer Organisations, Self-Help Groups, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and artisans for their role in strengthening Rajasthan's rural economy. Grant sanction letters were distributed for two JIVA projects aimed at promoting climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable farming practices.
NABARD, established in 1982 as India's apex development financial institution for agriculture and rural development, has continued to support infrastructure creation, agricultural credit, watershed development, rural entrepreneurship and livelihood generation across states through financial assistance and development programmes.
