PanIIT Alumni India, the apex body representing alumni from all 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), has elected Dr Amitabh Ranjan as Vice Chairman and Rajeev Singh as General Secretary for the 2026–28 term. The appointments strengthen the organisation's Executive Council, which represents a global network of more than five lakh IIT alumni. Dr Ranjan, currently Registrar at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), brings experience in public administration and governance, while Rajeev Singh, Chief General Manager at Engineers India Ltd, has played an active role in PanIIT's initiatives over the years. The organisation said the new leadership will support its focus on alumni engagement, technology, entrepreneurship and public policy.

PanIIT Alumni India has elected Dr Amitabh Ranjan as Vice Chairman and Rajeev Singh as General Secretary for the 2026–28 term, strengthening the leadership of the apex body representing alumni of all 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The appointments were announced on July 10 and form part of the organisation's Executive Council, which represents a network of more than five lakh IIT alumni in India and overseas.
The newly elected office bearers join Chairman Prabhat Kumar, IRS, and Treasurer Ashish Kela, CFA, on the Executive Council. PanIIT Alumni India also has active chapters in several countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Korea, Singapore and Australia.
Dr Amitabh Ranjan currently serves as Registrar at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi. A petroleum engineering graduate, he has previously held leadership positions in the Government of Uttar Pradesh, where he was associated with the digitisation of the state's Transport Department through the implementation of the Vahan vehicle registration platform and the Sarathi driving licence system, both of which are now used across India.
The organisation stated that Dr Ranjan has been actively involved in the PanIIT network, moderating and participating in several flagship summits covering subjects including public governance, India's knowledge traditions, energy, renewable energy and climate-related issues.
Rajeev Singh, who currently serves as Chief General Manager at Engineers India Ltd, has been associated with PanIIT Alumni India for several years. According to the organisation, he has played a significant role in organising its flagship events, initiatives and community engagement programmes. His appointment comes as PanIIT continues to expand its activities across technology, entrepreneurship and public policy.
Commenting on the appointments, Chairman Prabhat Kumar stated that both Dr Amitabh Ranjan and Rajeev Singh bring years of experience and sustained engagement with the PanIIT movement. He said their leadership would strengthen alumni collaboration, contribute to thought leadership and support the organisation's nation-building initiatives.
Dr Ranjan said it was a privilege to assume the role and that he looked forward to working with the Executive Council to deepen the organisation's engagement in public policy, governance and national development. Rajeev Singh stated that his priority as General Secretary would be to strengthen collaboration across PanIIT's chapters, initiatives and alumni network while enhancing engagement among members.
PanIIT Alumni India serves as the umbrella organisation for alumni of all IITs and promotes collaboration through programmes focused on technology, entrepreneurship, education and public policy. The organisation said the newly constituted Executive Council will continue to strengthen alumni engagement while supporting innovation-led partnerships and initiatives aimed at contributing to society and national development.
