Radisson Hotel Group has strengthened its India expansion strategy by signing 18 new hotels during the first half of 2026, adding more than 2,000 rooms to its development pipeline. The company also unveiled its Vision 2030 plan, which aims to expand its portfolio to 500 hotels across the country over the next five years. With branded hotel demand continuing to rise, Radisson is focusing on emerging cities, leisure destinations and spiritual tourism markets while increasing its presence across India's fast-growing hospitality sector.
Radisson Hotel Group has signed 18 hotels across India during the first six months of 2026 as it continues to expand its presence in one of the world's fastest-growing hospitality markets. The company also unveiled its India Vision 2030 strategy, under which it plans to increase its portfolio from around 240 operational and under-development hotels to 500 hotels over the next five years.
During the first half of the year, Radisson signed 18 hotels comprising 2,082 rooms and opened four new properties, adding 394 keys to its portfolio. With these additions, the group's development pipeline has grown to 98 hotels.
The expansion comes at a time when demand for branded hotels continues to remain strong across India, supported by rising domestic travel, improving infrastructure, business activity and increasing tourism. The hospitality sector has also seen growing investor interest, with several international and domestic hotel operators announcing aggressive expansion plans over the past few years.
Elie Younes, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, said India continues to be one of the world's most attractive hotel development markets. He noted that hotel demand continues to exceed supply, infrastructure is improving rapidly and hotel owners remain confident about long-term investments. According to him, these factors, along with the company's brand portfolio and local teams, continue to create opportunities for sustained growth.
Radisson Hotel Group currently operates 142 hotels with more than 15,500 keys across 86 cities in India, making it one of the country's largest international hotel operators. Including operational and under-development projects, its portfolio now stands at nearly 240 hotels.
The company also highlighted that India has emerged as the most active branded hotel development market in the Asia-Pacific region, with more than 900 hotel projects currently under construction. Industry experts have attributed this growth to increasing leisure travel, a revival in corporate travel, expansion of aviation connectivity and rising demand for organised hospitality across Tier II and Tier III cities.
As part of its expansion strategy, Radisson has entered 10 new markets during 2026, including Kishangarh, Meerut, Roorkee, Coorg and Kalimpong. The company has also identified leisure and spiritual destinations such as Puri and Prayagraj as key growth markets, reflecting increasing demand for hotels in pilgrimage and tourism-driven locations.
Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said the company is focusing on building a balanced hotel portfolio that matches changing traveller preferences while working closely with hotel owners to introduce suitable brands in the right locations. He added that strong market fundamentals and a healthy development pipeline continue to support the long-term growth prospects of India's hospitality industry.
Davashish Srivastava, Vice President, Development, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said the company's Vision 2030 strategy reflects its long-term commitment to India. He stated that Radisson is strengthening its partnerships, development capabilities and operating platform to support its expansion plans, while continuing to focus on quality growth, expanding into high-potential destinations and helping hotel owners maximise the value of their assets.
India has remained one of Radisson Hotel Group's key global markets over the past few years. The company has steadily expanded beyond major metropolitan cities into emerging business hubs, leisure destinations and religious tourism centres, in line with changing travel patterns and the growing demand for branded accommodation.
