CGH Earth is planning a major expansion as it aims to double its room inventory to 1,000 keys and increase its annual revenue to INR 1,000 crore by FY30. The hospitality company is focusing on an asset-light growth strategy by adding properties through management contracts and leases while investing around INR 100 crore. With projects underway in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and discussions progressing in Rajasthan, the company plans to strengthen its presence beyond southern India by developing hotels in heritage, wildlife and nature-based destinations.
Kochi-based hospitality company CGH Earth is planning to expand its portfolio across India by doubling its room inventory to 1,000 keys and targeting annual revenue of INR 1,000 crore by FY30. The company, which is known for its sustainable and experience-driven hospitality offerings, currently operates 32 properties, with most of its presence concentrated in southern India.
The company reported revenue of nearly INR 300 crore in FY26 and currently has around 500 operational keys. Building on this performance, CGH Earth plans to add another 500 keys over the next few years as it expands into new markets across the country.
At present, the hospitality chain has one property each in West Bengal and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is also preparing to add a few more hotels over the coming months as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.
For its next phase of growth, CGH Earth has planned a capital expenditure of around INR 100 crore. The investment will primarily support the company's expansion through an asset-light model, with funding coming from internal accruals as well as debt. Instead of focusing on owning new assets, the company intends to expand largely through lease agreements and management contracts, allowing it to increase its footprint with relatively lower capital investment.
CGH Earth currently operates under three hospitality brands. These include CGH Earth Experience Hotels, which focuses on leisure stays, CGH Earth Wellness Hotels, which caters to wellness tourism, and CGH Earth Saha, a collection of boutique properties with fewer than 10 rooms.
The company has already signed an agreement to develop a property in Gir, Gujarat, which is currently under construction and is expected to become operational in 2027. It is also beginning operations in Madhya Pradesh while discussions are underway for potential projects in Rajasthan, reflecting the company's strategy to establish a stronger presence in western and central India.
As part of its expansion plans, CGH Earth is focusing on destinations that offer strong cultural, heritage, wildlife or natural tourism appeal. The company believes such locations align with its long-standing approach of offering sustainable and experience-led hospitality. In the near term, its primary focus will remain on leisure resorts and holiday destinations.
Founded in 1954 as the Casino Group and later rebranded as CGH Earth, the company has built its reputation around environmentally responsible tourism and conservation-focused hospitality. Over the years, it has expanded through a mix of owned properties, leased hotels and management contracts while maintaining a strong presence in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The latest expansion marks its effort to strengthen its footprint across other parts of the country as demand for experiential travel continues to grow.
