Synopsis

GIFT City-based Artha Bharat Investment Managers IFSC LLP plans to double its assets under management (AUM) from USD 750 million to USD 1.5 billion over the next three years by expanding its investor base, distribution network and international presence. The company expects to receive a full operating licence for its Abu Dhabi business before the end of this year after securing principal approval from the Abu Dhabi Global Market regulator. It also plans to launch two new USD-denominated investment products while exploring expansion into Mauritius and Singapore alongside strengthening its presence across major Indian cities.

GIFT City-based Artha Bharat Investment Managers IFSC LLP is aiming to increase its assets under management (AUM) to USD 1.5 billion over the next three years from the current USD 750 million, while also expecting to secure a full operating licence for its Abu Dhabi business before the end of this calendar year.
The investment manager has already received principal approval from the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) regulator and is now in the final stage of meeting the remaining regulatory requirements before submitting its application for the final licence.
Speaking to PTI, Sachin Sawrikar, Managing Partner at Artha Bharat Investment Managers IFSC LLP, said the company had completed almost all the required conditions, with only a few remaining. He added that these were expected to be completed shortly, following which the company would apply for the final licence. According to him, the licence is expected to be granted before the end of the calendar year.
After securing the licence, the company plans to establish an investment fund in Abu Dhabi as part of its international expansion strategy. The move is expected to strengthen its presence in global financial markets and widen access to overseas investors.
On the company's growth plans, Sawrikar said the next phase would focus on building a broader distribution network, expanding its investor base and setting up offices in important domestic and international markets. He noted that the company's initial growth phase had been relatively easier, but future expansion would depend on creating a stronger distribution ecosystem across multiple geographies, which would support faster growth over time.
As part of its product expansion strategy, Artha Bharat Investment Managers also plans to introduce two USD-denominated investment products. These include a debt-oriented commodity and precious metals arbitrage fund, along with a global equity fund aimed at providing investors with wider international investment opportunities.
The company is also evaluating the possibility of opening additional international offices in Mauritius and Singapore. Within India, it plans to strengthen its presence through investor relations and distribution offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata to expand its reach among institutional and retail investors.
It further said it intends to improve access to its global investment offerings for Indian investors by partnering with banks and fund distributors across the country.
Commenting on the broader economic environment, Nachiketa Sawrikar, Portfolio Manager at Artha Bharat Investment Managers IFSC LLP, said the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) should continue to support economic growth as current inflationary pressures are largely being driven by external factors. He said consumers were already facing pressure due to global developments and added that monetary policy should remain counter-cyclical without placing additional pressure on households through higher interest rates.
Artha Bharat Investment Managers operates from Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), India's international financial services hub, where several domestic and global financial institutions have established operations under the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) framework. The company has been expanding its product portfolio and international footprint as GIFT City continues to emerge as a gateway for cross-border investment and fund management activities.
