Air India has partnered with the Union Ministry of Tourism to jointly promote India as a global tourism destination while strengthening the country's position as an international aviation and transit hub. The collaboration will focus on tourism marketing, destination storytelling, trade engagement, transit tourism and improving visitor experience. By combining Air India's expanding international network with the Ministry's Incredible India campaign, the initiative aims to attract more foreign tourists, improve India's global tourism presence and support the government's efforts to boost inbound travel and connectivity.
Air India has entered into a partnership with the Union Ministry of Tourism to jointly promote India as a preferred global tourism destination while strengthening the country's position as an important aviation and transit hub.
The collaboration follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the airline and the ministry for coordinated efforts across tourism marketing, destination storytelling, trade engagement, transit tourism and initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall visitor experience.
Under the partnership, Air India will leverage its expanding international route network alongside the Ministry of Tourism's Incredible India campaign to encourage higher inbound tourist arrivals. The initiative is also expected to showcase India's cultural heritage, diverse travel destinations and tourism offerings to international travellers through coordinated promotional activities.
The move comes as Air India continues to expand its global footprint under the Tata Group following its acquisition in 2022. The airline has been adding new international routes, increasing flight frequencies and modernising its fleet as part of a long-term transformation programme. A wider international network is expected to support the government's efforts to improve connectivity and attract more overseas visitors.
The Ministry of Tourism has also been working to strengthen India's global tourism appeal through the Incredible India initiative by promoting heritage, culture, spirituality, wellness, adventure and sustainable tourism. The latest collaboration is expected to bring together the government's destination promotion efforts and Air India's international reach to improve India's visibility across key global markets.
