REC Ltd reported a more than 6% year-on-year decline in its consolidated net profit for the first quarter of FY27, mainly due to lower interest income from loan assets. The state-owned finance company also recorded a fall in total income during the quarter compared to the corresponding period last year. Alongside its financial results, the company's board approved the first interim dividend for FY27 and announced the record and payment dates for both the interim dividend and the final dividend for FY26, providing clarity to shareholders on upcoming payouts.
State-owned finance company REC Ltd reported a consolidated net profit of INR 4,192.76 crore for the first quarter of FY27, registering a decline of more than 6% compared to INR 4,465.71 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The decline was mainly due to lower interest income during the reporting period.
The company's total income also declined year-on-year to INR 14,469.49 crore, compared with INR 14,823.98 crore in the same quarter a year earlier.
Interest income from loan assets stood at INR 13,888.18 crore during the quarter, down from INR 14,271.47 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. The lower interest income contributed to the decline in the company's overall earnings during the quarter.
Along with approving the quarterly financial results, REC's board approved the first interim dividend of INR 4.25 per equity share with a face value of INR 10 each for the financial year 2026-27.
The company said shareholders eligible for the interim dividend will be determined based on the record date of July 31, 2026, while the dividend will be paid on or before August 23, 2026.
The board also confirmed August 14, 2026, as the record date for determining eligible shareholders for the final dividend of INR 1.55 per equity share for the financial year 2025-26. The final dividend is scheduled to be paid on or before September 24, 2026.
REC is one of India's leading public sector non-banking financial companies focused on financing the power sector and infrastructure projects. Over the years, the company has expanded its lending portfolio beyond the power segment to include infrastructure sectors such as roads, metro rail, airports, ports, renewable energy, telecommunications and other strategic projects. Its quarterly performance is closely tracked as an indicator of financing trends in the country's infrastructure sector.
