ACME Solar expands battery storage capacity to 3.62 GWh in Rajasthan

Synopsis

ACME Solar Holdings has operationalised an additional 2.29 GWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan during the current financial year, taking its total operational storage capacity to 3.62 GWh across three project sites in the state. The expansion strengthens the company's energy storage portfolio and supports the integration of renewable energy into the grid. Battery energy storage systems play a key role in improving grid reliability, balancing intermittent renewable power generation and supporting India's growing clean energy and energy transition goals.

ACME Solar Holdings has operationalised 2.29 GWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan during the current financial year, taking its total operational BESS capacity to 3.62 GWh across three project locations in the state. 
The company said the newly commissioned capacity has been developed through its various subsidiaries and forms part of its ongoing efforts to expand its energy storage portfolio alongside its renewable energy business. 
With the latest addition, ACME Solar has strengthened its battery storage infrastructure in Rajasthan, a state that has emerged as one of India's leading renewable energy hubs due to its large-scale solar and wind power installations. Battery energy storage systems are increasingly being deployed to store surplus renewable energy and supply electricity during periods of high demand, helping improve grid stability and reliability. 
The company operates as an integrated renewable energy developer with a diversified portfolio that includes solar, wind, battery energy storage systems, Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects and hybrid renewable energy solutions. The expansion of its storage capacity aligns with the growing need for flexible energy infrastructure as renewable energy generation continues to increase across the country. 
India has been accelerating the deployment of battery energy storage systems to support its renewable energy targets and improve power system flexibility. Energy storage is expected to play an important role in managing the variability of renewable power, reducing curtailment and enabling round-the-clock supply from clean energy sources. Rajasthan, with its significant renewable energy capacity, has become a key market for such storage projects.
