The achievement underlines the steady rise in metro usage as connectivity across the city continues to expand.

Maha Mumbai Metro has recorded its highest-ever single-day ridership, with 3,73,637 commuters travelling on the network, marking a new milestone in passenger traffic. The record was achieved earlier this week and reflects the increasing adoption of metro services across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The latest achievement is the sixth time in the last 33 days that the metro network has registered a new single-day ridership record, indicating sustained growth in commuter demand. Previous records during this period include 3,70,047 passengers, followed by 3,68,422 passengers, 3,65,845 passengers, 3,58,115 passengers and 3,57,895 passengers.
Alongside the increase in ridership, Maha Mumbai Metro said that more than 72% of passengers chose digital, paperless tickets on the latest record day. The growing use of digital ticketing has reduced dependence on paper tickets while supporting environmentally friendly travel practices and faster access to metro services.
The metro operator stated that the rising passenger numbers and wider acceptance of paperless ticketing reflect the confidence commuters have placed in the network. It added that the continued support from passengers encourages efforts to further improve the quality of metro services.
Maha Mumbai Metro has been expanding its role in Mumbai's public transport network with the gradual addition of new corridors and improved last-mile connectivity. In recent years, the opening of new metro lines and the integration of digital ticketing options through mobile applications, QR-based tickets and the National Common Mobility Card have contributed to increased passenger convenience and higher ridership across the system.
The operator reiterated its commitment to providing safe, reliable, faster and environmentally sustainable public transport while continuing to encourage commuters to adopt digital and paperless travel options.
