Suzlon has secured a 201.6 MW wind energy project from Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited, the Independent Power Producer arm of the Waaree Group, for a project in Andhra Pradesh. The order will be executed under Suzlon's DevCo model, which offers end-to-end project development and execution. The company will install 64 wind turbine generators and provide services ranging from land acquisition to lifetime operations and maintenance. The project also marks Waaree Group's entry into wind energy in Andhra Pradesh, strengthening both companies' presence in India's renewable energy sector.
Suzlon has secured a 201.6 MW wind energy project in Andhra Pradesh from Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited (WFEPL), the Independent Power Producer (IPP) arm of the Waaree Group. The company announced the order in the past week, stating that the project will be executed under its DevCo model, which offers integrated renewable energy project development and execution.
The project marks Waaree Group's first wind energy project in Andhra Pradesh and represents an important collaboration between two companies that have established themselves in different segments of India's renewable energy industry. While Waaree has built its presence in solar energy manufacturing and project development, Suzlon has remained one of India's leading wind energy solutions providers.
Under the project, Suzlon will install 64 units of its flagship S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW, taking the total project capacity to 201.6 MW. The wind turbines will be deployed at the project site in Andhra Pradesh.
Suzlon will provide a complete engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package for the project. Its scope of work includes land acquisition, supply of wind turbine generators, Balance of Plant (BoP) works, project commissioning, as well as lifetime operations and maintenance services. The integrated execution is being carried out under the company's DevCo model, which combines project development, infrastructure creation and long-term asset management under a single framework.
The company said that integrated execution models such as DevCo are becoming increasingly important as renewable energy projects continue to grow in scale and complexity. Such models help developers accelerate project implementation, minimise development-related risks and improve execution efficiency while supporting larger renewable energy deployments.
Commenting on the development, Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, said that the partnership brings together two companies whose growth has reflected the development of India's renewable energy sector. He added that Waaree and Suzlon have built strong manufacturing ecosystems in the solar and wind segments respectively and have established a significant global presence.
The latest order adds to Suzlon's growing project pipeline at a time when India is accelerating renewable energy capacity addition to meet its clean energy targets. The company has secured several utility-scale and commercial and industrial wind energy orders over the past few years, while also expanding the deployment of its S144 series wind turbines across multiple states.
