Synopsis

The European Investment Bank (EIB) Group has selected Nextensa’s Treemont development in Brussels as the future home of its Permanent Representation in the city. The relocation is planned for the second quarter of 2028 and marks a long-term office commitment in Brussels' European district. Treemont is being developed as a timber-framed, carbon-neutral office building with a strong focus on sustainability and modern workplace standards. The move highlights the growing demand for environmentally efficient office spaces among major European institutions.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) Group has chosen Treemont, an office development by Belgian real estate company Nextensa, as the future premises for its Permanent Representation in Brussels. The relocation is scheduled for the second quarter of 2028, according to an announcement made by Nextensa.
Treemont is located on Montoyer Street in Brussels' European district, close to several European institutions. The project is currently in the design phase and is being developed as a next-generation sustainable office building with a timber-framed structure and a carbon-neutral footprint. The development will provide around 2,824 square metres of office space on each of its six floors and will include energy-efficient features such as solar panels, heat pumps, water recovery systems and data-controlled heating and cooling.
The EIB's Permanent Representation serves as the bank's liaison office with European Union institutions and stakeholders in Brussels. The planned move to Treemont aligns with the growing preference among public institutions and occupiers for sustainable and high-performance office buildings that support environmental objectives while offering modern workspaces.
For Nextensa, securing the EIB Group as a future tenant is a notable addition to its office portfolio in Brussels. The company has been expanding its focus on environmentally responsible commercial developments, with Treemont positioned as one of its flagship sustainable office projects.
