Bolt.Earth has entered into a strategic partnership with MapmyIndia to improve the discoverability of its electric vehicle charging infrastructure across India. Under the collaboration, approximately 350 of Bolt.Earth’s Level 2 and Level 3 chargers have been integrated into MapmyIndia’s maps and navigation platforms through the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol. The integration will enable users to locate charging stations directly through MapmyIndia’s applications while expanding visibility for charger owners beyond the Bolt.Earth ecosystem. The partnership comes as India’s electric mobility sector continues to expand and charging accessibility remains a critical factor in EV adoption. MapmyIndia stated that its platforms now provide access to information on more than 18,000 EV charging points nationwide through integrations with multiple ecosystem partners.
Bolt.Earth has partnered with MapmyIndia to improve access to electric vehicle charging infrastructure by integrating its charging network with the mapping and navigation company’s platforms. Announced on June 24, the collaboration is intended to make Bolt.Earth’s charging stations easier for EV users to locate while expanding the network’s visibility across a broader user base.
As part of the partnership, Bolt.Earth’s standard Level 2 chargers and DC fast chargers for four-wheelers will be accessible through MapmyIndia’s applications and navigation services. The integration enables EV drivers to discover charging stations directly within the MapmyIndia ecosystem without relying solely on the Bolt.Earth platform.
The collaboration has been enabled through the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol, an industry-standard framework designed to facilitate interoperability between charging networks and mobility service providers. Through this integration, approximately 350 Level 2 and Level 3 chargers from Bolt.Earth’s network have been incorporated into MapmyIndia’s platform.
According to the companies, the initiative will allow users of MapmyIndia’s maps and navigation services to locate and access charging infrastructure more efficiently. The arrangement also involves application programming interface (API) sharing to support seamless data exchange and improve the availability of charging station information across platforms.
Mohit Yadav, Founder of Bolt.Earth, stated that the partnership aligns with the company’s objective of strengthening India’s electric mobility ecosystem. He said the collaboration would enhance charger visibility across MapmyIndia’s wider network of applications and services, providing greater reach for charging station owners while making charging infrastructure more accessible to EV drivers.
Sapna Ahuja, President – Automotive Business and Chief Operating Officer at MapmyIndia, stated that the company is continuing to work with charging ecosystem participants to improve infrastructure accessibility for EV users. She said the integration makes Bolt.Earth’s charging network for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers available across MapmyIndia’s platforms. She added that users of the company’s maps and navigation services can now discover more than 18,000 EV charging points across India through integrations with multiple charging network partners.
The partnership comes at a time when charging infrastructure remains a key component of India’s electric vehicle adoption strategy. Improved visibility and accessibility of charging stations are considered important for reducing range anxiety and encouraging wider acceptance of electric mobility solutions among consumers.
Founded in 2017, Bolt.Earth operates one of India’s largest EV charging networks. The company stated that it has deployed more than 100,000 chargers across over 2,000 cities and supports charging requirements for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers. Its operations include charging hardware, software platforms, deployment services and charger management systems designed to support a connected EV ecosystem.
Through the integration with MapmyIndia, Bolt.Earth aims to extend the reach of its charging infrastructure and provide EV users with additional options for locating charging facilities across the country, supporting broader efforts to improve the convenience and accessibility of electric mobility.
