Rajesh Power Services Ltd has secured turnkey contracts worth INR 653.12 crore from Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (PGVCL) for underground power distribution projects across four districts in Gujarat. Announced in the past week, the contracts involve converting existing 11 kV high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) overhead electricity networks into underground cable systems with ring main infrastructure, supported by GIS mapping and asset tagging. The projects will be executed in the Bhavnagar, Anjar, Junagadh and Porbandar circles under PGVCL's distribution network. The company said the order reinforces its position in the power transmission and distribution sector, where it undertakes engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects for electricity infrastructure.
Rajesh Power Services Ltd has secured turnkey contracts worth INR 653.12 crore from Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (PGVCL), a Government of Gujarat undertaking, for the modernisation of electricity distribution infrastructure across multiple districts in the state. The company announced the order in the past week.
The contracts involve the conversion of existing 11 kV high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) overhead power distribution networks into underground cable systems equipped with a ring main distribution system. The projects will also include Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and asset tagging to improve network management and monitoring.
According to the company, the works will be carried out across the Bhavnagar, Anjar, Junagadh and Porbandar circles under PGVCL's electricity distribution network.
The underground cabling projects are intended to strengthen power distribution infrastructure by replacing conventional overhead lines with underground networks, which are generally less vulnerable to weather-related disruptions and can improve the reliability of electricity supply. The inclusion of GIS mapping and digital asset tagging is expected to support more efficient maintenance and asset management.
Commenting on the development, Kurang Panchal, Managing Director of Rajesh Power Services Ltd, said the award reflects the company's execution capabilities, technical expertise and experience in delivering complex power infrastructure projects. He added that the contracts reaffirm the company's track record in implementing large-scale transmission and distribution projects.
Rajesh Power Services is a specialised engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company operating in the power transmission and distribution sector. Its portfolio includes the execution of power infrastructure projects involving substations, transmission lines, distribution networks and associated electrical systems.
The latest contracts add to the company's order book and strengthen its presence in Gujarat's electricity infrastructure sector, where utilities continue to invest in grid modernisation, underground cabling and digital network management to improve operational efficiency and power supply reliability.
