Synopsis

Premier Energies has commissioned a 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur in Telangana, taking its total solar module production capacity to 11.1 GW. Announced in the past week, the facility forms part of the company's INR 12,500 crore capital expenditure programme aimed at expanding manufacturing capabilities and diversifying into new clean energy businesses. The company also conducted the ground-breaking ceremony for a 6 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility and an 18,000 metric tonnes per annum aluminium frames plant. These projects are expected to strengthen Premier Energies' integrated manufacturing ecosystem and domestic supply chain. Separately, the company reported securing INR 3,011 crore worth of orders during the first quarter of FY27 for the supply of solar cells and modules.

Premier Energies has commissioned a 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur, Rangareddy district, Telangana, as part of its INR 12,500 crore capital expenditure programme to expand manufacturing capacity and enter additional clean energy segments. The facility was inaugurated in the past week.
With the commissioning of the new plant, the company's total solar module manufacturing capacity has increased to 11.1 GW, enabling it to cater to both domestic and international markets. Premier Energies said the investment forms part of its broader strategy to strengthen its manufacturing footprint and support the growing demand for solar equipment.
Alongside the commissioning of the module facility, the company also held the ground-breaking ceremony for a 6 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing plant and an aluminium frames manufacturing facility with an annual production capacity of 18,000 metric tonnes.
According to the company, these new projects represent its expansion into complementary clean energy and manufacturing segments. The battery storage and aluminium frame facilities are intended to strengthen its supply chain while supporting India's efforts to build a more self-reliant clean energy manufacturing ecosystem.
Surender Pal Singh Saluja, Chairman of Premier Energies, said the newly commissioned facility reflects the company's commitment to technological advancement, manufacturing capability and India's clean energy transition.
Premier Energies currently operates 11.1 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity and 3.6 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity, positioning it among India's established solar equipment manufacturers.
The company also disclosed that it secured orders worth INR 3,011 crore during the quarter ended June 30, 2026, covering the supply of solar cells and solar modules. These orders add to its execution pipeline as demand for domestically manufactured solar equipment continues to increase.
In addition to its ongoing expansion programme, Premier Energies is investing a further INR 6,000 crore to establish 10 GW of ingot manufacturing capacity and 10 GW of wafer manufacturing capacity. Once completed, these investments are expected to support the company's objective of becoming a fully integrated solar manufacturing company by expanding its presence across multiple stages of the photovoltaic value chain.
