The Municipal Corporation of Manesar has taken the first steps towards establishing a waste-to-energy plant as part of its strategy to modernise solid waste management infrastructure. The proposed facility is intended to convert municipal waste into electricity while reducing the volume of waste sent to landfill sites. With rapid urbanisation leading to higher waste generation across the region, the project is expected to become a key component of Manesar's long-term environmental and urban infrastructure planning. 
The civic body has commenced groundwork for the proposed waste-to-energy project by initiating site-related preparations and technical assessments. Preliminary activities include surveys, planning exercises and coordination among concerned departments to facilitate the implementation of the facility. The project forms part of broader efforts to introduce sustainable waste treatment solutions in the rapidly growing industrial and residential hub. 
Once commissioned, the plant will process municipal solid waste through waste-to-energy technology, significantly reducing the quantity of refuse requiring disposal at landfill sites.
