ITC Hotels Ltd has signed a management agreement to develop Welcomhotel Mysuru, a 99-key hotel in Karnataka, as part of its strategy to expand the Welcomhotel brand across prominent business and leisure destinations in South India. The agreement was announced in the past week and marks the company's latest addition to its managed hospitality portfolio.
The hotel will be developed in partnership with M/s Sumeru Hospitality and is intended to cater to both corporate and leisure travellers visiting Mysuru. According to ITC Hotels, the property has been planned to offer modern hospitality facilities while reflecting the cultural character of the city.
Welcomhotel Mysuru will comprise 99 guest rooms and suites designed for business and leisure guests. The hotel will include an all-day dining restaurant and a lobby café offering regional culinary experiences. It will also feature approximately 5,500 sq ft of indoor banqueting and event space, positioning the property to host weddings, corporate meetings and social functions. Recreational facilities will include a swimming pool and a fitness centre.
Anil Chadha, Managing Director of ITC Hotels Ltd, said the company views Mysuru as one of South India's important destinations because of its heritage, tourism appeal and expanding economic base. He stated that the proposed hotel would strengthen ITC Hotels' presence in Karnataka while offering visitors a premium hospitality experience that combines contemporary amenities with the city's distinctive cultural identity.
Sunag B S, Managing Partner of M/s Sumeru Hospitality, said the association with ITC Hotels would support the development of a hospitality project that blends Mysuru's traditions with modern guest experiences. He added that the hotel is intended to reflect the character of the city while contributing to the local community.
ITC Hotels noted that Mysuru continues to attract visitors throughout the year owing to its royal heritage, historical landmarks and cultural significance. The city is home to attractions such as Mysore Palace and the annual Dasara celebrations, while also serving as an educational and commercial centre that draws business travellers.
The company said Karnataka remains one of India's major tourism and economic destinations, with Mysuru benefiting from strong road connectivity to Bengaluru and sustained demand from leisure tourism, events and business travel. According to ITC Hotels, these factors provide favourable conditions for the development of premium hospitality assets in the city.
The signing of the management agreement forms part of ITC Hotels' ongoing expansion strategy, with the company continuing to strengthen its presence across emerging hospitality markets through managed hotel developments under its Welcomhotel brand.
