Synopsis

The Amaravati Growth Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (AGICL) has invited bids for the construction of the official residence of the Chief Justice in Amaravati at an estimated cost of nearly INR 14 crore. The project forms part of the Andhra Pradesh government's ongoing capital city development programme and includes a two-storey residential bungalow with associated services and landscaping. The tender adds to the pipeline of judicial and administrative infrastructure projects currently under execution in Amaravati, supporting the phased development of the state's institutional and governance precinct.

The Amaravati Growth Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (AGICL) has invited tenders worth nearly INR 14 crore for the construction of the official residence of the Chief Justice in Amaravati, further advancing judicial infrastructure development within Andhra Pradesh's capital city. The tender was issued in the past week as part of the state's broader programme to build administrative and institutional facilities in Amaravati.
The proposed project involves the construction of a two-storey Chief Justice's bungalow with architectural finishes, internal and external electrical works, plumbing and sanitary installations, fire-fighting systems, lifts, diesel generator facilities, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), security systems, external development works and landscaping. The residence will be developed on a design-build contract, with contractors also responsible for the defect liability period after completion.
According to the tender notification, bids have been invited from eligible contractors, with submissions scheduled to close later this month. The estimated project cost is around INR 14 crore, and the successful bidder will undertake the complete execution of civil, electrical, mechanical and allied infrastructure works required for the residential complex.
The Chief Justice's residence is one of several judicial infrastructure projects being undertaken in Amaravati. AGICL has also floated tenders for the construction of a Judicial Academy, judges' club and guest house, additional judicial bungalows and related residential infrastructure. Parallel tenders have been issued for mechanical, electrical and plumbing works at the High Court building and integrated government office complexes, reflecting the continued expansion of the capital city's institutional infrastructure.
The residential project forms part of the Andhra Pradesh government's renewed push to develop Amaravati as the state's administrative capital. In recent months, multiple tenders have been issued covering government housing, legislative buildings, judicial infrastructure, technology parks and public amenities. State authorities have directed implementing agencies to adhere to construction schedules as capital development gathers pace.
Amaravati's current infrastructure pipeline includes housing for government employees, ministers and senior officials, administrative office complexes, High Court-related facilities, transport infrastructure and public utilities. The addition of the Chief Justice's official residence is expected to strengthen the judicial precinct planned within the capital region and support the phased relocation of key government institutions. Alongside residential projects, AGICL continues to invite bids for commercial, civic and institutional developments, reinforcing Amaravati's long-term urban infrastructure programme.
