IHCL signs 20 hotels in Q1, targets 700-property portfolio by 2030

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) signed 20 hotel projects during the first quarter of FY27 as it continued expanding its portfolio under the company's 'Accelerate 2030' growth strategy. The Tata Group hospitality company also opened 11 hotels during the April-June quarter, taking its operational portfolio to more than 380 properties, while its development pipeline reached 263 hotels. Most of the new signings were across the Gateway, Ginger and Tree of Life brands, with projects spanning emerging destinations and established markets across India. The company said it remains on track to achieve a portfolio of 700 hotels by 2030, while also strengthening its international presence with two new Taj hotel openings in Germany and South Africa.

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has signed 20 hotel projects during the first quarter of FY27 as it continues to expand its portfolio under its 'Accelerate 2030' strategic roadmap, which targets a network of 700 hotels by the end of the decade. 
The Tata Group-owned hospitality company said it currently has a development pipeline of 263 hotels. During the April-June quarter, it also opened 11 hotels across its portfolio, taking its operational network to more than 380 properties across multiple brands and markets. 
According to IHCL, 17 of the 20 hotel signings during the quarter were under its Gateway, Ginger and Tree of Life brands, reflecting the company's continued focus on expanding its growth brands. The new projects span a mix of emerging destinations and established hospitality markets. 
The latest signings include projects in Bharatpur, Trichy, Sindhudurg, Jawai and Wayanad, while the company also expanded its presence in key markets such as Mumbai, Goa, Agra and Kolkata. 
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL, said the company's development strategy continues to focus on strengthening its growth brands while expanding into new destinations and increasing its presence in established markets across the country. 
During the quarter, IHCL's luxury brand Taj reached a portfolio of 150 hotels following three new signings. These additions include projects in Dharamshala, Barapani in Meghalaya and Kusur Valley in Maharashtra, further expanding the brand's presence in leisure destinations. 
Commenting on the company's operational expansion, Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – Hotel Openings & New Businesses at IHCL, said the opening of 11 hotels during the quarter increased the company's operating portfolio to more than 380 properties across its brands and markets. 
IHCL also strengthened its international presence during the quarter with the opening of Taj Hessischer Hof in Frankfurt, Germany, and Taj Bush Lodge in Greater Kruger, South Africa. 
The latest additions form part of IHCL's long-term expansion strategy as the company continues to broaden its presence across luxury, upscale and mid-scale hospitality segments while progressing towards its target of operating and developing a portfolio of 700 hotels by 2030.
