Indian Railways has announced two weekly summer special train services on the Hyderabad–Mangaluru Central and Bilaspur–Yelahanka corridors to accommodate increased passenger demand during June and July 2026. The Hyderabad–Mangaluru service will operate four round trips between 3 and 25 June, while the Bilaspur–Yelahanka special will run five round trips between 3 June and 2 July. The trains will connect major cities across Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, providing additional capacity on heavily travelled routes during the peak travel season.
Indian Railways has introduced two weekly special train services connecting Hyderabad with Mangaluru Central and Bilaspur with Yelahanka as part of efforts to manage increased passenger traffic during the summer travel season.
The services were announced through a South Western Railway press release issued on 2 June 2026. Operated in coordination with South Central Railway and South East Central Railway, the special trains are intended to provide additional accommodation on routes that experience higher passenger demand during the holiday period.
The first service, Hyderabad–Mangaluru Central Weekly Express Special, will operate under Train Nos. 07097 and 07098 for four round trips. Train No. 07097 will depart Hyderabad every Wednesday at 04:20 hrs between 3 June and 24 June 2026 and is scheduled to arrive at Mangaluru Central at 09:30 hrs on the following day. The return service, Train No. 07098, will leave Mangaluru Central every Thursday at 20:00 hrs from 4 June to 25 June 2026 and reach Hyderabad at 04:00 hrs on Saturday.
The train will pass through several major stations including Begumpet, Lingampalli, Vikarabad, Yadgir, Raichur, Guntakal, Anantapur, Dharmavaram, Yelahanka, Krishnarajapuram, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod and other intermediate stations in both directions. The rake composition comprises 24 coaches, including three AC Two Tier coaches, five AC Three Tier coaches, ten Sleeper Class coaches, four General Second Class coaches and two SLR coaches.
The second service, Bilaspur–Yelahanka Weekly Express Special, will operate under Train Nos. 08261 and 08262 for five round trips. Train No. 08261 will depart Bilaspur every Wednesday at 14:00 hrs between 3 June and 1 July 2026 and arrive at Yelahanka at 19:00 hrs on Thursday. The return service, Train No. 08262, will leave Yelahanka every Thursday at 21:30 hrs from 4 June to 2 July 2026 and reach Bilaspur at 03:30 hrs on Saturday.
This service will halt at key stations including Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Gondia, Balharshah, Manchiryal, Kazipet, Secunderabad, Lingampalli, Vikarabad, Yadgir, Raichur, Guntakal, Gooty, Anantapur, Dharmavaram and Hindupur before terminating at Yelahanka. The train will comprise 20 coaches, including four AC Three Tier coaches, ten Sleeper Class coaches, four General Second Class coaches and two SLR coaches.
Railway officials stated that the additional services have been introduced to cater to seasonal travel requirements and provide extra seating and sleeping accommodation for passengers travelling across southern and central India. Passengers have been advised to check official railway channels for detailed schedules, stoppages and reservation availability before commencing their journeys.
