Kyro Capital Private Limited has launched the Kyro India Opportunities Fund – I, a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) with a target corpus of INR 100 crore. Announced in New Delhi on June 1, the fund is designed to invest in profitable growth-stage Indian companies that are expected to access public markets within the next 24 to 36 months.
The fund is sponsored by Kyro Capital, the corporate advisory arm of the Kyro Group, and managed by Kyro Asset Management Private Limited. According to the company, the investment strategy focuses on identifying businesses with established profitability, scalable operations and a defined pathway towards an initial public offering (IPO). The fund is targeting a 35% internal rate of return through a pre-IPO primary investment approach.
The launch marks the first offering under Kyro’s proposed India Opportunities platform, which has been created to identify and invest in companies approaching the public market stage. The fund will focus on sectors including energy and power, advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defence supply chains, and consumer and fast-moving consumer goods businesses.
Within the energy segment, the investment mandate covers transmission infrastructure, renewable energy, insulators, solar energy and energy storage. In manufacturing, the focus will be on companies operating within aerospace and defence supply chains, while consumer investments will target category-leading businesses with established market positions.
Fund details released by the company show a target corpus of INR 100 crore, a sponsor commitment of INR 2.5 crore and a hurdle rate of 10% per annum. The fund has a tenure of five years with an option to extend by an additional two years. Its first close is targeted for July 2026.
Aman Maheshwari, Founder and Managing Director of Kyro Capital and Kyro Asset Management, stated that the firm’s investment philosophy is centred on identifying profitable businesses operating outside the mainstream focus of capital markets. He noted that many of India’s growth opportunities exist within companies that remain largely under the radar despite being positioned for significant expansion and eventual public listings.
Kyro’s entry into asset management follows its work as an investment banking and transaction advisory firm, where it advised growth-stage companies on capital raising and strategic transactions. The company said this experience helped shape its conviction that substantial investment opportunities exist among businesses preparing for public market participation.
Alongside its domestic plans, Kyro has outlined ambitions to develop a broader multi-fund platform and explore investment opportunities in international markets. The firm identified South Korea, Taiwan and Germany as regions of strategic interest, particularly in sectors linked to semiconductors, precision manufacturing and the energy transition.
According to the company, the fund’s broader objective extends beyond financial returns, with a focus on supporting business expansion, employment generation and industrial development through capital deployment into high-growth enterprises. The launch of Kyro India Opportunities Fund – I represents the firm's first step towards building a larger institutional private equity platform from its base in Indore.
