Synopsis

SOTC Travel has introduced a month-wise spiritual tourism calendar covering pilgrimage circuits, religious festivals and faith-based travel experiences across India and neighbouring countries amid rising demand for spiritually oriented travel. The curated programme includes destinations such as Char Dham, Kailash Mansarovar, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Tirupati and the Sri Lanka Ramayana Trail, alongside major religious events including Rath Yatra, Janmashtami, Dev Deepawali and Onam. The company stated that travellers are increasingly combining pilgrimage with cultural exploration, heritage tourism and immersive local experiences. SOTC added that demand is being driven by senior citizens, families and multigenerational groups seeking organised travel with integrated logistics, accommodation and on-ground support as spiritual tourism evolves into a year-round travel segment.

SOTC Travel has launched a year-round calendar of spiritual tourism itineraries and pilgrimage circuits as demand for faith-based travel continues to expand across India.
The company stated that spiritual tourism is increasingly evolving beyond traditional pilgrimage travel, with travellers seeking experiences that combine faith, heritage, local culture and destination-based exploration. The curated programme has been designed to align travel plans with major religious festivals, pilgrimage seasons and favourable travel periods across different regions.
According to the company, the spiritual tourism calendar covers destinations across India and neighbouring countries, including circuits linked to Hindu pilgrimage routes, temple towns, religious festivals and culturally significant locations.
For June, the company has recommended pilgrimage destinations including Char Dham in Uttarakhand, Amarnath Yatra in Jammu & Kashmir, Kailash Mansarovar, Nepal Muktinath, Jagannath Temple in Puri and Vaishno Devi. Suggested complementary experiences include the Ganga Aarti at Haridwar, yoga retreats in Rishikesh, the Konark Sun Temple and Chilika Lake.
The July itinerary includes Puri-Bhubaneswar, Kailash Mansarovar, Amarnath Yatra, Vaishno Devi and Char Dham, aligned with festivals such as Rath Yatra and Guru Purnima celebrations. The company also highlighted Odisha’s temple circuit, the Cuttack heritage trail and Varanasi’s ghats and evening aarti as supplementary experiences.
During August, the calendar focuses on Mathura-Vrindavan, Dwarka, Puri, Ujjain, Nashik Trimbakeshwar and Kailash Mansarovar, coinciding with Janmashtami and Shravan-related pilgrimage travel. Additional attractions include Govardhan Parikrama, Bet Dwarka, Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar Temple.
The September recommendations include the Madurai-Rameshwaram-Kanyakumari-Trivandrum circuit, Dwarka-Somnath, the Malwa Jyotirling circuit, Tirupati and Srisailam, alongside events such as Onam and Ganesh Chaturthi. Associated tourism experiences include Kovalam, Alleppey backwaters, Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Diu.
The October spiritual travel calendar covers Kashi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Gaya, Haridwar, Dwarka-Somnath, Tirupati, Shirdi and Dakshin Bharat circuits during Navratri, Durga Puja, Mysuru Dasara and Pitru Paksha rituals.
For November, SOTC has highlighted Ayodhya, Varanasi, Bodh Gaya, Pushkar and Amritsar around Dev Deepawali, Kartik Purnima, the Pushkar Camel Fair and Guru Nanak Jayanti. December recommendations include the Panch Jyotirlinga circuit, Kashi-Chitrakoot, Tiruvannamalai, Shirdi and the Sri Lanka Ramayana Trail.
SD Nandakumar, President and Country Head – Holidays and Corporate Tours at SOTC Travel, stated that spiritual tourism in India is witnessing sustained momentum as travellers increasingly seek journeys focused on meaning, cultural engagement and spiritual connection.
He added that the company’s Darshans portfolio has been structured to combine devotional travel with organised logistics, accommodation, meals and assistance services, enabling travellers to focus on the pilgrimage experience itself.
The company stated that demand for organised spiritual travel is particularly strong among senior citizens, families and multigenerational travel groups, reflecting the increasing integration of faith-based tourism with broader leisure and cultural travel trends across India.
