Bharat Buildcon 2026, a major exhibition focused on the building materials and construction industry, was inaugurated at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi on Friday. The event was inaugurated by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal and Member of Parliament Parshottam Rupala, in the presence of industry representatives and stakeholders.
The exhibition attracted more than 25,000 visitors on its opening day, reflecting strong interest from across the construction ecosystem. The event has brought together architects, builders, developers, contractors, manufacturers, traders, policymakers, industry associations and international buyers, creating a platform for networking, business discussions and industry collaboration.
Addressing participants, Jitin Prasada highlighted the role of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) in strengthening India's economic growth and improving access to international markets for domestic industries. He referred to the recently concluded India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), noting that the pact is expected to deepen trade relations and create new opportunities for Indian manufacturers and exporters.
Prasada also spoke about the government's focus on positioning India as a reliable global manufacturing and sourcing destination through an emphasis on quality and competitiveness. He stated that sectors such as construction and building materials possess significant potential to expand their presence in global markets.
The minister noted that industry platforms such as Bharat Buildcon facilitate engagement between manufacturers, innovators, buyers, policymakers and other stakeholders, while encouraging collaboration and commercial opportunities across the value chain.
The exhibition has drawn participation from more than 90 countries and over 100 cities across India. Organisers said the event showcases products, technologies and innovations spanning 24 industry segments, covering areas such as ceramics and stone, cement and steel, hardware, plywood and laminates, furniture, sanitaryware, electrical equipment, paints and advanced construction technologies.
Industry participants are using the platform to demonstrate new products, explore business partnerships and engage with potential buyers from domestic and international markets. The event also provides opportunities for discussions on emerging trends, technological advancements and evolving requirements within the construction sector.
The exhibition will continue over the coming days, featuring product displays, business meetings and industry interactions aimed at supporting growth across the building materials and construction ecosystem. Organisers expect the event to facilitate investment discussions, technology adoption and greater collaboration among stakeholders from India and abroad.
