Bolt.Earth and ChargeZone have entered into a strategic partnership to enhance electric vehicle charging accessibility through an interoperable charging network spanning more than 1,500 fast-charging locations across India. The collaboration will enable electric vehicle users to locate, access and pay for charging services across both networks through a single application, reducing dependence on multiple platforms. The partnership combines ChargeZone’s public fast-charging infrastructure with Bolt.Earth’s peer-to-peer charging ecosystem, covering urban centres, highways and intercity corridors. Industry participants view interoperability as a critical component in supporting India’s expanding electric mobility ecosystem and improving convenience for both personal and commercial EV users.
Electric vehicle charging network operators Bolt.Earth and ChargeZone have announced a strategic partnership aimed at improving charging accessibility and interoperability for EV users across India.
The collaboration will allow electric vehicle owners to access charging infrastructure across both networks through a single platform, enabling users to locate, initiate and pay for charging sessions without switching between multiple applications. The integrated network will provide access to more than 1,500 fast-charging locations for four-wheelers across the country.
The partnership comes as India’s electric mobility market continues to expand across personal, commercial and fleet segments, increasing demand for accessible and reliable charging infrastructure. Industry stakeholders have increasingly identified interoperability as an important factor in accelerating EV adoption and improving user experience.
ChargeZone operates one of India’s larger public fast-charging networks, with charging stations located along highways, intercity routes and urban mobility corridors. The company’s infrastructure is designed to support both long-distance travel and daily urban commuting requirements.
Under the partnership, EV drivers using either platform will be able to access charging stations across the combined network while benefiting from integrated payment systems and real-time charger availability information. The companies said the arrangement is intended to simplify the charging process and address challenges associated with fragmented charging infrastructure.
Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ChargeZone, stated that India’s electric vehicle transition is occurring across multiple mobility segments simultaneously, including private vehicles, commercial transport and fleet operations. He said interoperability is essential to enabling charging infrastructure to function effectively at a national scale and noted that the partnership would help make fast-charging facilities more accessible to a broader range of EV users.
Bolt.Earth contributes a wider charging ecosystem to the collaboration, supporting two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers through a network that spans more than 2,000 cities across India. The company operates a peer-to-peer charging platform that allows individuals, businesses and fleet operators to participate in the expansion of EV infrastructure.
Jyotiranjan Harichandan, Founder of Bolt.Earth, said interoperability represents an important step in the evolution of India's charging ecosystem. He noted that integrating Bolt.Earth’s network with ChargeZone’s fast-charging infrastructure would improve accessibility and convenience while helping to address range anxiety among EV users.
According to the company, the unified platform will provide users with a consolidated, real-time view of charging station availability across both networks. The objective is to simplify route planning and improve charging reliability, particularly for users travelling across different cities and regions.
The partnership reflects a broader trend within the EV sector towards network integration and standardisation. Industry participants have increasingly advocated interoperable charging systems as a means of improving utilisation rates, enhancing customer convenience and supporting the wider adoption of electric vehicles.
Founded in 2017, Bolt.Earth has deployed more than 100,000 chargers across over 2,000 cities and operates a vertically integrated EV ecosystem encompassing charging hardware, software and network management services. Through collaborations with charging infrastructure providers and vehicle manufacturers, the company continues to expand its footprint within India’s rapidly evolving electric mobility sector.
As charging infrastructure becomes a critical component of the country’s transport transition, partnerships focused on interoperability are expected to play a growing role in creating a more connected and user-friendly EV ecosystem.
