Synopsis

Star Air has announced the launch of scheduled commercial operations to Mundra, Gujarat, from June 23, 2026, further expanding its domestic network and making Mundra its 32nd destination. The new services will connect the port city with Mumbai, Hindon (Delhi NCR), Goa, Surat, Bengaluru, Belagavi, Kolhapur and Nanded through a mix of direct and one-stop flights. The move is expected to strengthen connectivity to one of India’s most important port-led industrial hubs, support regional economic growth, facilitate business travel and improve accessibility for passengers travelling between western, southern and northern India. The expansion also aligns with the airline’s strategy of enhancing air connectivity to emerging economic centres under India’s regional aviation framework.

Star Air, the aviation arm of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group, has announced the launch of scheduled commercial flight services to Mundra (MDA), Gujarat. Operations are scheduled to commence from June 23, 2026, making Mundra the airline’s 32nd destination in its domestic network.
Mundra, home to India’s largest private commercial and container port, is emerging as a major industrial and economic hub. The new flight services will provide direct connectivity between Mundra and Mumbai, Hindon (Delhi NCR), Goa, Surat, Belagavi, Bengaluru, Kolhapur and Nanded, offering improved travel options for business travellers, professionals, industrial stakeholders and tourists.
The airline will operate five weekly direct flights between Mumbai and Mundra on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Additionally, three weekly direct flights will connect Mundra and Hindon on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Commenting on the launch, Capt. He noted that the launch of services to Mundra reinforces Star Air’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity through reliable, convenient and affordable air travel.
The airline stated that the new services are expected to improve access to one of India’s most significant port-led economic centres, facilitating easier movement of people and business activity between Mundra and major cities across the country.
Star Air will also operate four weekly direct services connecting Mundra with Goa and Surat from Tuesday to Friday, along with a revised Saturday schedule aimed at weekend travellers. The airline said the expanded network will enhance both business and leisure travel options while positioning Mundra as a growing aviation gateway in western India.
Arun Bansal, CEO of Adani Airport Holdings Limited, welcomed the launch and said the new services would strengthen air connectivity in the Kutch district while supporting tourism, trade and economic development. He also acknowledged the role of the Government of India’s UDAN scheme in enabling regional connectivity growth.
