DJ Group of Institutions, a Delhi-NCR-based healthcare education network operated by the Jassar Dental Medical Education Health Foundation (JDMEHF), has appointed Sanjeev Gupta as Group Head – Construction and Planning to oversee the execution of its upcoming DJ Medicity project in Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh. Gupta brings more than 28 years of experience in construction management, project execution and healthcare infrastructure development, including a stint as Construction Head at Apollo Hospitals. In his new role, he will lead construction strategy, planning and implementation for the integrated healthcare and education campus, managing design coordination, budgeting, regulatory compliance and vendor engagement. The appointment comes as the group strengthens its execution capabilities for one of its largest infrastructure developments, aimed at creating a healthcare and medical education ecosystem in the region.
DJ Group of Institutions has appointed Sanjeev Gupta as Group Head – Construction and Planning as it advances work on DJ Medicity, an integrated healthcare and education campus being developed in Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh. The appointment was announced on Tuesday by the Delhi-NCR-based healthcare education network, which operates under the Jassar Dental Medical Education Health Foundation (JDMEHF).
Gupta will be responsible for leading construction strategy, planning and project execution across the group’s infrastructure initiatives, with primary responsibility for delivering the DJ Medicity development. His role will include overseeing design coordination, budgeting, vendor management, regulatory compliance and overall project implementation while aligning construction milestones with the organisation’s broader healthcare and education objectives.
The appointment comes as the group seeks to strengthen execution and delivery capabilities for DJ Medicity, which is being planned as a comprehensive healthcare and medical education campus. The project is intended to integrate clinical infrastructure, academic facilities and operational systems within a single ecosystem.
Gupta brings more than 28 years of experience in project execution, construction management and operations across healthcare, residential, commercial and institutional infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining DJ Group of Institutions, he served as Construction Head at Apollo Hospitals, where he managed multiple greenfield and brownfield healthcare projects across India, overseeing planning, budgeting and execution activities.
His professional experience also includes work on large-scale healthcare developments for private hospital operators including Action Cancer Hospital, Yashoda Hospitals, Max Healthcare and Artemis Health Institute. According to the institution, his experience in delivering super-speciality healthcare facilities will support the technical planning and execution requirements of the DJ Medicity project.
Commenting on the appointment, Rhitik Jassar, Chairman of Jassar Dental Medical Education Health Foundation and DJ Group of Institutions, said the organisation had already engaged healthcare design firm CDA (Creative Designer Architect) for the project and remained focused on ensuring effective on-ground implementation. He noted that Gupta’s experience across healthcare organisations including Max Healthcare, Apollo Hospitals and Fortis would add significant depth to the project’s execution capabilities and support the timely delivery of the proposed facility while maintaining quality standards.
Gupta said the vision behind the project influenced his decision to transition from private hospital developments to a project linked with teaching hospitals and medical education. He added that the project team was working alongside healthcare architects, structural consultants, MEP specialists and landscaping consultants to deliver the planned development.
In his new position, Gupta will work closely with the leadership team to establish an execution-focused roadmap for the project. His responsibilities will include coordinating with consultants, contractors and project stakeholders while monitoring cost controls, construction quality and delivery timelines.
The appointment reflects the group’s efforts to build internal project management capabilities as it progresses with what it describes as one of its most significant infrastructure developments to date.
