Synopsis

• Inox Wind Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Inox Clean Energy to supply 1,500 MW of wind turbines for renewable energy projects across India.
• The agreement covers the deployment of Inox Wind’s 3.3 MW and 4X MW turbine platforms, supporting Inox Clean Energy’s expanding renewable energy pipeline.
• Following the MoU, Inox Wind’s order book has surpassed 4.5 GW, strengthening its medium-term execution visibility.
• Inox Clean Energy is targeting an operational renewable energy portfolio of 14 GW by FY29, with the partnership expected to support faster project implementation.

Inox Wind Ltd (IWL) has strengthened its position in India’s renewable energy sector by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Inox Clean Energy for the supply of 1,500 MW of wind turbines. The agreement is expected to support the development of multiple renewable energy projects across the country while significantly expanding Inox Wind’s existing order pipeline.
Under the terms of the MoU, Inox Wind will provide its 3.3 MW and 4X MW wind turbine generators for projects being developed by Inox Clean Energy. The partnership marks another major step in the growing integration of wind power into India’s renewable energy expansion plans and reinforces the role of domestic manufacturers in supporting the country’s clean energy ambitions.
The agreement comes at a time when renewable energy developers are accelerating investments in utility-scale projects to meet rising demand for clean power and support national decarbonisation targets. Wind energy continues to play a critical role alongside solar power in diversifying India’s renewable energy mix and strengthening grid stability.
According to Inox Wind, the new order commitment significantly boosts its business visibility. The company stated that it already maintains a robust order book of approximately 3.1 GW. With the addition of the 1,500 MW supply arrangement, the total order book now exceeds 4.5 GW, providing a substantial project pipeline for the coming years.
The expanded order book is expected to support production planning, supply chain optimisation and long-term operational visibility for the company. Industry analysts view large supply agreements as an important indicator of future revenue streams and execution momentum within the renewable energy sector.
For Inox Clean Energy, the partnership is intended to strengthen project delivery capabilities and improve access to turbine technology as it scales up its renewable energy portfolio. Company officials indicated that the arrangement would help accelerate project execution timelines while providing greater certainty in procurement and supply chain management.
The collaboration is also expected to enhance capital efficiency by enabling smoother coordination between project development and equipment supply. As renewable energy projects become larger and more complex, timely access to critical equipment has emerged as a key factor influencing project schedules and investment returns.
Inox Clean Energy has outlined ambitious growth plans and is targeting an operational renewable energy portfolio of 14 GW by FY29. The company is pursuing expansion across multiple clean energy segments and sees long-term potential in supporting India’s transition toward a lower-carbon energy system.
The latest agreement highlights the increasing scale of renewable energy investments taking place in India and reflects growing confidence among developers and equipment manufacturers in the sector’s long-term growth prospects. As project pipelines continue to expand, strategic partnerships between developers and technology suppliers are expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting the country’s renewable energy objectives.
