The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has opened online registrations for more than 3,100 residential plots under its upcoming Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar housing schemes in Lucknow. The launch marks a significant step in the authority's urban expansion programme, with around 2,100 plots being offered in the first phase of Varun Vihar and over 1,000 plots under Naimish Nagar. The schemes form part of LDA's larger plan to create new residential townships supported by modern infrastructure, green spaces and mixed-use development across key growth corridors of the city.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has launched online registrations for more than 3,100 residential plots under its Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar housing schemes, expanding the supply of planned residential land in the Uttar Pradesh capital. The registrations opened this week as the authority moves ahead with two of its largest township developments.
The offering includes approximately 2,100 plots in the first phase of the Varun Vihar scheme and over 1,000 plots under the Naimish Nagar project. Applications are being accepted through an online registration process, with allotments expected to be carried out through a lottery-based system, in line with LDA's standard practice for residential plot allocation.
Varun Vihar is being developed along the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and is among the authority's most ambitious residential projects. The scheme is planned over a large land parcel and will comprise residential, commercial, mixed-use, institutional and group housing components. According to LDA, the project is intended to emerge as one of the largest residential developments being undertaken in the state. The authority has already completed land acquisition and compensation payments across substantial portions of the project area while continuing phased acquisition from farmers.
Naimish Nagar, meanwhile, is being developed along the IIM Road corridor in Bakshi Ka Talab. The integrated township has been planned to accommodate a large residential population and will feature road infrastructure, green belts, parks, schools, hospitals, commercial facilities and solid waste management systems. Earlier this year, LDA accelerated the project after securing consent from thousands of farmers covering hundreds of hectares of land required for development.
The launch of the two schemes forms part of the authority's broader urban expansion strategy aimed at creating new growth centres around Lucknow. Both projects have received approvals under the state's urban development plans and are expected to contribute significantly to the city's future housing supply. Previous government approvals had also earmarked funding support for the development of Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar, alongside infrastructure creation and land acquisition activities.
With registrations now underway, LDA is seeking to address growing demand for plotted residential developments while facilitating planned urban growth through large-scale township projects equipped with modern civic and social infrastructure.
