Synopsis

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) held a Gram Sabha in Nowlur village as part of the ongoing land acquisition process for Amaravati's development. Senior APCRDA officials interacted with farmers and residents, explaining the progress of land pooling, infrastructure development and acquisition procedures. Authorities informed landowners that those included in the acquisition notification still have an opportunity to voluntarily join the Land Pooling Scheme within the prescribed period. APCRDA also assured villagers that concerns related to land, development and civic infrastructure would be examined in line with government policies and planning objectives.

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) conducted a Gram Sabha in Nowlur village as part of the ongoing land acquisition process for the development of Amaravati. APCRDA Commissioner V. Vijayarama Raju, IAS, along with Additional Commissioners A. Bhargava Teja, IAS, and Kollabattula Karthik, IAS, attended the programme and interacted with local farmers and residents.
During the meeting, the Commissioner explained that land pooling had been undertaken to facilitate the construction of roads, Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) infrastructure, pumping stations and other key projects required for the development of the capital city. He said APCRDA had held multiple rounds of discussions with landowners who had not joined the Land Pooling Scheme. Following these consultations and in accordance with established procedures, a land acquisition notification was issued for the required land parcels.
Officials informed farmers that landowners whose names have been included in the acquisition notification can still voluntarily participate in the Land Pooling Scheme within the stipulated period. The Commissioner noted that several farmers from Nowlur had recently agreed to contribute their land under the scheme after discussions with APCRDA officials, indicating continued engagement between the authority and local stakeholders.
The meeting also provided villagers with an opportunity to submit representations and raise concerns regarding land-related matters and local development issues. Responding to these requests, the Commissioner said all genuine concerns would be examined and addressed in accordance with government policies and applicable guidelines. He added that proposals related to village development and civic infrastructure would be considered as part of the broader planning process for the Amaravati Capital Region.
The Commissioner further highlighted that APCRDA is carrying out infrastructure works across villages within the Capital Region and that development activities under the Amaravati project are progressing. He appealed to farmers and residents to continue supporting the capital city's development efforts.
Beneficiaries who have been allotted returnable plots under the Land Pooling Scheme were also advised to complete the registration process at the offices of the respective Competent Authorities. Officials from various APCRDA departments participated in the Gram Sabha and addressed queries raised by residents.
Amaravati's development has largely been driven through the Land Pooling Scheme, under which farmers voluntarily contribute land in return for developed residential and commercial plots along with other benefits. APCRDA has been continuing consultations with landowners across capital region villages to facilitate infrastructure development and implementation of key projects planned for the capital.
