Gujarat is taking a significant step toward becoming a major player in India's expanding space economy with plans to establish a dedicated space manufacturing hub near Ahmedabad. The proposed facility, expected to come up in the Khoraj area, is designed to create an integrated ecosystem where space-tech companies, component manufacturers, startups, and research institutions can collaborate and scale their operations.
The project reflects the state's growing focus on high-technology industries beyond its traditional manufacturing strengths. By creating specialized infrastructure for the aerospace and space sectors, Gujarat hopes to attract both domestic and international investments while supporting India's ambitions of becoming a global space manufacturing destination.
A key feature of the initiative is the proposal to develop a state-of-the-art testing facility with an estimated investment of around INR 100 crore.
