Synopsis

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) carried out a special drive to remove unauthorized encroachments in parts of Amaravati as part of the capital city's planned development and zoning regulations. The exercise was conducted in Krishnayapalem and Venkatapalem villages, where officials cleared structures obstructing roads, footpaths and public land. Authorities stated that the initiative was aimed at improving public safety, easing traffic movement and ensuring compliance with urban planning norms. APCRDA also cautioned against future encroachments on government land and public spaces, warning that violations would attract strict action under existing regulations.

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) conducted a special drive to remove unauthorized encroachments in Amaravati as part of the implementation of the capital city's zoning regulations and planned development framework.
The drive was carried out in Krishnayapalem and Venkatapalem villages located within the Amaravati capital region. During the operation, officials identified and removed unauthorized structures occupying roads, footpaths and government land.
Containers, temporary sheds, banners, flex boards and other structures that were obstructing the movement of pedestrians and vehicles were cleared with the support of APCRDA personnel and officials from concerned departments. The exercise was undertaken to restore public access to roads and ensure that public spaces remain free from unauthorized occupation.
According to officials, the action was taken in line with existing regulations governing urban development and public safety within the capital region. They stated that the removal of encroachments would help improve traffic flow and facilitate smoother movement across the affected areas.
Officials also clarified that commercial activities can continue within Amaravati, provided they comply with the applicable rules and regulations. However, the installation of containers, sheds and similar permanent or semi-permanent structures in unauthorized locations will not be permitted.
The authority further reiterated that government land, road right-of-way areas and other public spaces must remain free from encroachments. Amaravati's development plans have consistently emphasized organized urban growth, infrastructure development and regulated land use to support the long-term vision for the capital city.
Authorities warned that any future encroachments identified in the capital region would be dealt with strictly under the prevailing rules. They added that action could be initiated against unauthorized structures without prior notice to ensure continued compliance with planning and development norms.
