Chhattisgarh has witnessed a significant milestone in rural housing with the allocation of over 800,000 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan acknowledged Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai's efforts in completing previously incomplete homes under the scheme. A new survey has also been initiated to assess further housing requirements in the state. Additionally, the state government's 'Samadhan Shivir' initiative has effectively resolved over 4,000 applications related to PMAY, with a resolution rate of 85% in the Bastar district. The government's focused approach aims to address housing shortages while ensuring effective implementation of welfare schemes.
Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers Welfare, and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently announced that Chhattisgarh has allocated over 800,000 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), marking a significant milestone in the state's rural housing initiative. The announcement was made during a review meeting held recently with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, where the progress of various schemes under the Panchayat and Agriculture Department was assessed.
Minister Chouhan acknowledged CM Sai's proactive efforts in completing the construction of previously abandoned houses under the PMAY scheme. He noted that the previous government had left numerous houses in an incomplete state, leaving beneficiaries in limbo. However, under the current administration, significant progress has been made in completing these structures and ensuring that eligible families receive proper housing.
To further address the housing deficit, the Chhattisgarh government has launched a fresh survey to identify those still in need of housing assistance. This initiative seeks to bridge the gap and provide shelter to those who have been overlooked in previous assessments.
The government's 'Samadhan Shivir' initiative has also gained momentum, particularly in the Bastar district, where 13-14 Gram Panchayats in the Jagdalpur region were targeted. Over 4,000 applications related to the PMAY scheme were processed, with an impressive 85% being resolved on the spot. This rapid response approach has been lauded as a testament to the state administration's commitment to improving public services and addressing citizens' grievances effectively.
Earlier this month, CM Sai conducted a review of the Samadhan Shivir camps held in Kawardha town, Kabirdham district. During the review, he interacted with the public to assess the impact of government schemes and to ensure that intended beneficiaries are receiving the allocated assistance. This initiative reflects the state's intention to not only implement schemes but also to monitor their effective execution at the grassroots level.
The 'Samadhan Shivir' initiative has also proven effective in addressing grievances and accelerating the resolution process, particularly in regions with high demand. The government's concerted approach not only underscores its commitment to rural welfare but also fosters greater trust among citizens, setting a precedent for other states to emulate.
