Andhra Pradesh has launched a new land resurvey project, set to be completed in three years, as confirmed by Revenue Minister A Satya Prasad. The initiative, started on January 20, follows a pilot survey in selected villages and adopts a systematic approach, dividing villages into 20 blocks and surveying 20 acres daily. The project commenced on 20 January, with the government selecting one village per mandal as a pilot to refine the procedures. Under the new scheme, each village will be systematically divided into 20 blocks, with officials assigned to survey 20 acres of land every day. This methodical approach is expected to not only expedite the survey process but also enhance the accuracy and reliability of land records in the state.
Minister Prasad further explained, "Our government has resumed the land re-survey, ensuring that the process is transparent and that landowners are taken into confidence. This step is crucial in rectifying past errors and establishing a solid foundation for future land management and development." The move is seen as a vital measure to restore public trust in the state's land administration, which has long been criticized for inaccuracies in land records.
