Delhi's Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena shared updates on the ongoing PM-UDAY scheme, with over 6,000 individuals attending special camps in unauthorised colonies during the first two days. The camps, aimed at granting ownership rights to residents of these colonies, have already processed numerous applications and executed conveyance deeds. Saxena encouraged further participation in the camps, which are being held every weekend through the end of December. These camps provide services like conveyance deed issuance, GIS surveys, and new registrations to facilitate property legalisation for residents in 1,731 unauthorised colonies.
Delhi's Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena stated that more than 6,000 individuals attended the initial two days of the Delhi Development Authority's (DDA) special camps in unauthorised colonies under the Prime Minister-Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY) scheme. In a post on X, Saxena shared that 6,654 participants took part across 10 camps, leading to the resolution of issues in 710 previous applications. Additionally, 1,028 new applications for ownership rights were received, and 275 of these were approved. A total of 231 conveyance deeds/authorisation slips were also issued.
The PM-UDAY scheme aims to provide legal recognition to properties in 1,731 unauthorised colonies of Delhi by granting ownership rights. Saxena encouraged residents in these colonies to actively engage in the ongoing camps to support the Prime Minister's initiative for conferring ownership rights. On his instructions, the DDA is conducting these camps every Saturday and Sunday from November 30 to December 29 across 10 centres in unauthorised colonies.
The camps are being held in Burari, Najafgarh, Aya Nagar Extension, Karawal Nagar, Budh Vihar Colony, Nangloi, Khirki Extension, Malviya Nagar, and New Ashok Nagar. Saxena visited the camp at Shyam Vihar in Najafgarh, where he interacted with beneficiaries and inquired about their satisfaction with the services provided. The camps offer a range of services, including issues related to conveyance deeds and authorisation slips, GIS survey, and new registrations.
The PM-UDAY scheme continues to progress as the Delhi Development Authority's special camps gather significant participation from residents of unauthorised colonies. With thousands attending in the first few days, the scheme is making strides in granting ownership rights and legalising properties. The camps, running every weekend through December, are an essential initiative in empowering residents with official documentation for their properties. The success of the camps demonstrates a growing enthusiasm among Delhi's unauthorised colony residents for securing their rightful ownership.
