In compliance with the Hon. Court's order dated 9th October regarding Public Interest Litigation No. 155/2021, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced a special campaign to eliminate unauthorized banners and hoardings. This campaign will be conducted across all eight departments of the Municipal Corporation from 25th November to 4th December 2024.
As part of this initiative, unauthorized banners/hoardings, including those with expired permissions, will be removed. Additionally, the cost incurred for their removal will be recovered as a penalty from those responsible. Under the Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1995, placing unauthorized banners or hoardings in public spaces without proper permission is a violation that hinders the city's beautification efforts. Citizens are urged not to display banners or hoardings without permission post-campaign, as violations will result in legal action under the Act.
