The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority conducted its weekly “Grievance Day” at its headquarters in Rayapudi, receiving 53 petitions from farmers and residents of the capital region. The session, held in the past week, focused on issues including re-allotment of returnable plots, land pooling concerns, and related matters linked to the Amaravati capital city project. Senior officials, including the Commissioner and Additional Commissioner, reviewed submissions and assured timely resolution. The authority reiterated that grievance petitions can be submitted on all working days at its Citizen Grievance Centre, with dedicated weekly sessions aimed at addressing stakeholder concerns within the capital region development framework.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority conducted a “Grievance Day” session at its head office in Rayapudi in the past week, receiving 53 petitions from farmers, agricultural labourers, and residents of the Amaravati capital region regarding land and development-related concerns.
The session was held at the authority’s headquarters in Thullur mandal, Amaravati, with participation from senior officials including Commissioner V. Vijayaramaraju, Additional Commissioner A. Bhargava Teja, and other administrative officers overseeing land, planning, and development functions.
Petitioners raised issues primarily related to re-allotment of returnable plots under the land pooling scheme, discrepancies in plot allocation, and other concerns associated with land contributions made for the capital city project. The land pooling mechanism, which forms a core component of Amaravati’s development model, involves voluntary contribution of agricultural land by farmers in exchange for developed plots and infrastructure benefits.
Officials reviewed the submitted petitions during the session and indicated that the grievances would be examined and addressed at the earliest in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. The authority stated that such grievance redressal initiatives are aimed at ensuring continuous engagement with stakeholders affected by the capital city development process.
The APCRDA also reiterated that, beyond the weekly sessions, petitions are being accepted on all working days at the Citizen Grievance Centre (CGC) located within the head office premises. This facility is intended to provide ongoing access for farmers and residents to submit concerns related to land pooling, development works, and administrative processes.
Authorities informed that the “Grievance Day” programme is conducted every Monday between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, enabling direct interaction between citizens and senior officials. The structured format allows for review of individual cases, documentation of grievances, and initiation of follow-up action by relevant departments.
The session was attended by officials across departments, including land administration, planning, survey, legal, development promotion, and information technology, reflecting the multi-departmental nature of issues linked to capital city development. Representatives from grievance redressal management, estates, communications, and human resources divisions were also present.
The Amaravati capital region project has involved large-scale land pooling from farmers across multiple villages, making grievance redressal a critical component of project administration. Issues such as plot re-allotment, entitlement discrepancies, and documentation remain key areas requiring administrative attention.
The continuation of weekly grievance sessions indicates an institutional mechanism aimed at addressing stakeholder concerns and maintaining administrative transparency in the implementation of the capital city project.
