A Canadian Premier League match saw an unusual moment when Inter Toronto striker Tomasz Skublak used his goal celebration to promote his real estate business. An unusual goal celebration in the Canadian Premier League has drawn attention after Inter Toronto striker Tomasz Skublak used the moment to promote his real estate business. The 28-year-old forward, who is also a full-time realtor in Ontario, turned his on-field success into a marketing opportunity during his team’s 4-1 win over defending champions Atletico Ottawa. The match remained goalless at halftime before Skublak opened the scoring shortly after the break. A long ball played behind the defence allowed him to find space, and he finished past the goalkeeper to give his side the lead. Instead of a conventional celebration, he rolled down his socks, pulled out a business card, showed it to the camera, and gestured as if making a phone call, signalling viewers to contact him for property-related needs.
Skublak later explained that he is both a full-time player and a full-time real estate agent, and saw the moment as an opportunity to gain visibility for his business. He noted that he spends significantly on marketing outside football and considered this a way to promote his services without additional cost.
The forward continued his strong performance by scoring another goal shortly after his first, helping Inter Toronto move up to second place in the league standings. His form has been consistent this season, making him the top scorer in the Canadian Premier League so far.
Balancing professional sport with a demanding real estate career has required a disciplined routine. Skublak shared in a past interaction with the league that his day typically involves training until late morning, followed by team commitments, and then meeting clients from early afternoon until late evening. Despite the workload, he indicated that he has been able to manage both roles effectively.
Instances of athletes managing parallel careers are not uncommon, especially in emerging leagues where financial structures may encourage players to diversify income sources. Skublak’s approach, however, stands out for directly integrating his business into matchday moments, reflecting both personal initiative and the evolving nature of athlete branding.
