The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority conducted an e-lottery process this week at its Rayapudi office for the allotment of returnable plots to farmers who contributed land for Amaravati, the proposed People’s Capital. A total of 37 plots were allotted to 17 farmers from nine villages, along with five farmers from Undavalli who gave land for the Seed Axis Road project. The process was held in the presence of farmers through a live random selection system. Provisional certificates were handed over by the Additional Commissioner, while officials urged farmers to complete registration and await GIS-based land demarcation support.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) carried out the allotment of returnable plots to farmers at its office in Rayapudi through an e-lottery system earlier this week. The exercise was conducted for farmers who had contributed land for the development of Amaravati, the proposed People’s Capital, as well as for infrastructure projects linked to it.
A total of 37 returnable plots were allotted to 17 farmers belonging to nine villages who had given land for Amaravati. In addition, five farmers from Undavalli village, who had contributed land for the construction of the Seed Axis Road, were also included in the allotment process. Out of the total, seven plots were specifically allotted to these Undavalli farmers linked to the Seed Axis Road development, while the remaining plots were distributed among farmers from Nidamarru 1 and 2, Kuragallu 1 and 2, Velagapudi, Mandam 1 and 2, Pichukalapalem, Lingayapalem, Nekkallu, Tullur 1 and 2, and Undavalli (Jaribu) villages.
Before the final selection, a trial run was conducted using an online random system in the presence of the participating farmers. Following this, a live lottery process was carried out to ensure transparency in allocation. After completion of the process, APCRDA Additional Commissioner Kollabathula Karthik, IAS, handed over provisional certificates to the farmers who were allotted returnable plots.
CRDA Special Grade Deputy Collector and Director (Lands) for the Capital City, Vasantharayudu, who oversaw the arrangement, informed that farmers receiving the returnable plots should proceed with the registration process without delay. He also stated that GIS teams and village surveyors would assist the beneficiaries by providing geographical clarity regarding the allotted land parcels.
Officials from the Planning and GIS departments, along with Special Deputy Collectors A G Chinnikrishna, B Sai Srinivasanayak, M Seshi Reddy, and other CRDA staff, were present during the process.
