The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is launching an upgraded digital portal with a new land use verification feature to curb fraudulent property transactions. This will address issues where commercial plots, green belts, and roads were illegally sold as residential properties. The portal will allow users to generate detailed land use reports by entering tehsil, village name, and plot number, along with the option to obtain an official land use NOC for a nominal fee. LDA Vice Chairperson Prathamesh Kumar announced that the portal will use advanced technology for real-time verification, replacing outdated ERP systems and ensuring greater transparency and trust in property transactions.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to introduce an upgraded land use verification feature in its upcoming digital portal to enhance transparency and curb fraudulent property transactions. This initiative addresses the growing issue of land misrepresentation, where commercial plots, sewage treatment plants, green belts, and roads have been illegally sold as residential properties, leading to legal conflicts and buyer disputes. Currently, LDA provides only basic property details, including ownership records, registration status, and deposit history.
However, the absence of specific land use classification creates uncertainty for buyers, making it difficult to verify whether a property aligns with its designated use. The new portal will resolve this issue by offering detailed land use reports, ensuring buyers can access reliable and verified information before making a purchase. Users will be able to generate land use reports for any property under LDA's jurisdiction by entering the tehsil, village name, and plot number. Additionally, individuals will have the option to obtain an official land use NOC for a nominal fee, which will reduce the risk of disputes and improve transparency in property transactions.
LDA Vice Chairperson Prathamesh Kumar pointed out that the new portal will incorporate advanced technology to improve response times and facilitate real-time land record verification. He also highlighted the authority's decision to replace its outdated ERP software, which is no longer supported, with a more efficient and user-friendly system. This upgrade will streamline various services and simplify access to property records.
By integrating modern technology, LDA aims to strengthen governance, instill public trust, and ensure that buyers make well-informed property decisions. This initiative marks a significant step toward transforming land record management in Lucknow, fostering a more transparent and legally compliant property market. It will also enhance efficiency by streamlining administrative processes, reducing delays and inefficiencies in verifying land records.
