Synopsis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated and laid the foundation for multiple landmark projects in Andhra Pradesh, totalling investments exceeding INR 2 lakh crore. These initiatives include India's largest green hydrogen hub, the South Coastal Railway Zonal Headquarters, and the Krishnapatnam Industrial Node. Notably, the bulk drug park in Nakkapalli and the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area are set to create significant employment opportunities and promote economic growth. These ventures aim to enhance connectivity, boost Andhra Pradesh's infrastructure, and position it as a key economic player in India's economy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth over INR 2 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh earlier this week. Among the key developments were the South Coastal Railway Zonal Headquarters and NTPC's integrated green hydrogen hub in Pudimadaka, Anakapalli district. Additionally, various road and rail projects were dedicated to the nation to enhance connectivity and regional development.

The green hydrogen hub, a collaboration between NTPC Green Energy Ltd and the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP), is India's largest initiative in this space. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the first phase of the Krishnapatnam Industrial Node, a project valued at INR 1,518 crore spanning 2,500 acres, which is expected to create 50,000 jobs. Similarly, the foundation stone was laid for a bulk drug park in Nakkapalli, requiring an investment of INR 1,877 crore and expected to provide 54,000 jobs.

Additional projects include the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area, part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, which aims to develop a greenfield industrial smart city. This initiative is projected to attract INR 10,500 crore in manufacturing investments and generate around 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs.

A government press release highlighted the transformative potential of these projects, asserting that they will drive economic growth, improve connectivity, and enhance living standards in Andhra Pradesh. PM Modi remarked that these initiatives form the backbone of the state's infrastructure revolution, aligning with India's broader economic aspirations. By prioritising modernisation and sustainability, these projects underscore the state's potential as a hub for innovation and development.
