If everything proceeds as planned, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is preparing to launch a residential scheme on December 15, marking the first anniversary of the BJP government. Located on Kalwar Road in Nahri Ka Bas, the project will span 12 hectares of land and be named after former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

A JDA official mentioned that the project committee had approved the scheme's name, and they were awaiting approval from the state government to ensure the launch event takes place on December 15.

Although the city has seen a few residential projects developed solely by the JDA, the civic body has not launched any residential schemes in the past four years. The official explained that this would be the first residential project the JDA would develop post-COVID-19. The scheme will feature a total of 386 plots, with 36 of these reserved for the LIG category and EWS. Additionally, plots will be set aside for retail shops and commercial activities.

The JDA official clarified that the reserve rates for the plots have not yet been finalized. The civic body is expected to hold a lottery for plot allotment in November 2025. Officials also stated that three additional residential projects are being considered by the JDA. In addition to the Kalwar Road scheme, the authority is planning to launch a residential development near Rohini Nagar in Zone 11, within the Manpura Teela village. The JDA has also proposed two farmhouse projects, one in Govindpura Ropada under Zone 10 and the other in Jairampura, within Zone 12.

The upcoming launch of the JDA's residential scheme reflects a significant step in reviving urban development after a four-year hiatus. Set to offer affordable plots and spaces for commercial activities, the project aims to meet the growing housing needs in Jaipur. With additional projects in the pipeline, the JDA's efforts align with the city's broader real estate development goals, promising to boost both residential and commercial infrastructure in the region in the coming years.
