Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin recently launched the state's first co-working space, "Mudhalavar Padaipagam," in Chennai. It is located in Agaram near Perambur. This new space aims to support local professionals and students by offering high-quality facilities, including high-speed internet, meeting rooms, and a learning centre. Built with an investment of INR 2.85 crore, the project is part of the "North Chennai Development Scheme." Mudhalvar Padaipagam provides affordable, modern workspaces with simple online booking options.
Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister MK Stalin has launched Mudhalvar Padaipagam, the state's first government-funded co-working and learning centre. Located on Jagannathan Street in Kolathpur, Chennai, this facility aims to support small business owners and students preparing for competitive exams.
Built for INR 2.85 crore, the centre spans three floors and offers workspaces, study resources, and recreational facilities. It is set to empower local entrepreneurs and students alike. For collaborative needs, there are three conference rooms available for groups of four to six people, ideal for small meetings and brainstorming sessions.
The ground floor of Mudhalvar Padaipagam offers a co-working space designed for people to start their own businesses, but lacking suitable workspaces. It includes 38 desks, each with power outlets, and high-speed internet, allowing users to work.
For flexible use, the co-working space has multiple booking options. A half-day desk costs INR 50, a full-day is INR 100, and a monthly membership is INR 2,500. Conference rooms are available at INR 150 per hour for four-seaters and INR 250 per hour for six-seaters.
On the second floor, there is a dining area with 30 seats and a stall offering tea and snacks for visitors. Users can book the co-working spaces, learning centre, and conference rooms online. Flexible options allow for daily, weekly, or monthly bookings between 7 am and 8 pm, making it convenient for everyone.
Mudhalvar Padaipagam is part of the Vada Chennai Valarchi Thittam, or North Development Scheme, led by the Greater Chennai Corporation and the Chenna Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA). This initiative focuses on promoting economic and educational growth in the area. The facility operates from 9 am to 9 pm daily, and individuals can book their spots on the official Chennai Corporation website.
Alongside this centre, Chief Minister Stalin also launched additional projects in Kolathur. These include multi-purpose community centres, a women's gym, and new transformer substations.
