Avaada Group recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra government to develop two large-scale pumped storage hydro projects Pawana Falyan (2,400 MW) and Sirsala (1,200 MW) with a total proposed investment of INR 15,100 crore. These projects are expected to generate over 3,800 direct jobs and bolster the state's renewable energy infrastructure by ensuring reliable, round-the-clock power supply. The Gopal Krishna Gokhale bridge in Andheri is on track to complete its main construction by April 30, 2025, according to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials. Although the structure itself is nearly finished, traffic opening will depend on further inspections and approvals from railway authorities. Minor works such as signage and barriers will continue post-completion. The bridge will improve east-west connectivity in Andheri, alleviating traffic on SV Road and the Western Express Highway. Starting 1st May 2025, Mumbai International Airport will officially begin hand-carriage jewellery export operations, a major boost for India�s gem and jewellery trade. Enabled by CBIC Circular No. 09/2025-Customs, the move follows a successful mock drill involving key industry bodies and customs authorities. GJEPC Chairman Kirit Bhansali praised the initiative for simplifying logistics, especially for MSME exporters, and strengthening India's position as a global jewellery hub. A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will soon be issued to guide exporters. Ludhiana is on the verge of launching a much-anticipated construction and demolition (C&D) waste processing plant in the Dhandhari area. Originally estimated at INR 2.69 crore, the project's cost escalated to INR 7.5 crore due to unforeseen challenges, including the site's history as a former dumpsite. Despite these setbacks, the plant is now nearly complete, with civil construction and machinery installation finished. The Karnataka government has approved Tata Realty's INR 3,273 crore IT and ITeS park in Whitefield, Bengaluru, which is expected to create 5,500 jobs.
