The JDA recently sealed two buildings with illegal constructions in Gokul Nagar in Jaipur. A tip from the locals alerted the authority about two buildings on Kalwar Road about buildings that were not implementing the mandatory construction laws, and the developers were subsequently served notices under Section 32, 33, and 34(a) of the JDA Act 1982. If the developers do not adhere to the laws immediately, then the enforcement wing has the go-ahead to knock the buildings down. The Rajasthan High Court has directed the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) to remove 274 encroachments from the public road between Khatipura Tiraha and Sirsi Road, restoring its 48-metre width within two months. Notices under Section 72 of the JDA Act, 1982, will be issued, with objections resolved in seven days. Encroachments, including permanent structures, must be cleared promptly. In a related PIL regarding encroachments on the 200-feet sector road near Kalwar and Niwaru Roads, the court ordered the JDA commissioner to submit an action plan and affidavit by December 2 or appear personally. The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has launched an online auto-calculation service for determining lease deed fees, available exclusively for plot owners in the Prithviraj Nagar (PRN) region. This digital initiative enables users to calculate various charges-such as the lease deed fees, the name transfer, the subdivision, and the plot reorganisation-directly on the JDA website. Plot owners enter property details to receive a breakdown of costs, including allotment fees, administrative charges, and conservation funds. The service supports both residential and commercial properties, enhancing convenience by eliminating the need for physical visits. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued a notice to RIICO Limited, Bikaner, for allegedly violating environmental regulations in the Karni Industrial Area expansion project. The tribunal found that RIICO began construction activities, including the development of roads and buildings, between 2010 and 2013, without obtaining the mandatory environmental clearance, which was only approved in April 2017. Additionally, a food processing unit was reportedly allowed to start construction in January 2014, contravening a 2010 ministry circular. The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) plans to expand its jurisdiction by an additional 1,000 sq. km, incorporating 272 villages from Jaipur Rural and Dudu districts as part of the Master Plan 2047. This proposal, set for discussion in an upcoming meeting chaired by JDA commissioner Anandhi, aims to increase the JDA's coverage from 5,000 sq. km to 6,000 sq. km.
