Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said the Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway will become fully operational by the end of this year, reducing travel time between the two cities to around two hours. The 260 km corridor is currently partially open. He also stated that the Delhi-Dehradun expressway is ready and has reduced travel time to two hours. Makmor has signed an LoI with German company MD Aircraft GmbH to acquire 10 nine-seater electric regional aircraft, MDA1 eViator, aimed at enhancing India's regional air travel. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the development of a civil enclave at Srinagar airport at an estimated cost of INR 1,677 crore, marking a significant expansion of aviation infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. Spread across 73.18 acres, the project includes construction of a new terminal building with a built-up area of 71,500 sq m. Once completed, the terminal is designed to handle 2,900 passengers during peak hours and support an annual capacity of 10 million passengers. Akasa Air has become the first airline to begin commercial operations from the new integrated terminal at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. The Union Cabinet has approved a 3.33-kilometre extension of the North-South corridor of the Gujarat Metro that will connect GIFT City with Shahpur in Ahmedabad at an estimated cost of INR 1,067.35 crore. The decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24 February and marks a key expansion of the state's urban transport infrastructure. The elevated corridor will feature three new metro stations and is scheduled for completion in about four years. Government projections indicate daily ridership will reach around 23,700 passengers by 2029, rising to nearly 58,000 by 2041. Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Ltd is expecting to generate around INR 350 crore from a serviced residence project on EM Bypass in Kolkata, which will be used to fund the construction of a new luxury hotel in the city. The mixed-use development is being undertaken in partnership with Ambuja Neotia Group and marks the first collaboration between the two Kolkata-based groups. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has completed a complex tunnelling stretch beneath an active railway line, a busy flyover and an operational metro corridor as part of the Janakpuri West& RK Ashram Metro corridor under Phase IV. The 203-metre section near Sadar Bazar was executed 15 metres below ground without stopping railway, metro or road traffic. The work took 117 days due to technical complexity and multiple approvals. The proposal to install astroturf at Colaba Back Garden in south Mumbai has been withdrawn after objections from local footballers and residents. Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar clarified that the ground will retain its natural mud surface and there will be no reduction in its size. While the artificial turf plan has been shelved, basic infrastructure such as floodlights, toilets and changing rooms will be added.
