Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is set to introduce its European lifestyle brand Vienna House in India with the signing of a 100-key Vienna House Easy property in Vrindavan. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2029 and will mark the brand's entry into the Indian market. Wyndham currently has more than 50 hotels in its India pipeline, with around 25-30 per cent expected to become operational over the next two years. The company expects to end the year with about 100 operational hotels in India as it continues expanding its presence across the country.Read more

IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its presence in India by signing a management agreement with Embrassio Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality arm of Vrindara Group, to develop a Holiday Inn hotel in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The property is expected to open in early 2030 with 115 rooms and suites. Separately, Air India and Booking.com have entered into a partnership to provide integrated travel booking services, allowing customers to book accommodation through Air India's platforms while accessing exclusive rewards and benefits.Read more

Local authorities, along with railway officials and police, have initiated the demolition of approximately 100 houses in Nai Basti, Mathura. Situated near the Shri Krishna Janmasthan, the area has a largely minority population. These houses are accused of unauthorized construction on government land. Despite an ongoing court case, slated for the next hearing on August 21, the demolition continued unabated. Of the 135 identified houses, 60 have already been torn down. The affected families had previously lodged a plea in the civil court after being served notices by the railways, pressing for a response from the concerned authorities.Read more
