Indian Railways flag 2,670 waterlogging-prone subways, corrective works underway across zones

Indian Railways has identified 2,670 road-under-bridges (RUBs) vulnerable to waterlogging out of 14,745 subways nationwide following a zone-wise assessment. The issue was raised in Parliament after concerns over frequent flooding at subways, including those in Tirupati. Permanent preventive infrastructure has been completed at 1,351 locations, while temporary dewatering arrangements are operational at the remaining sites.
