The Vizhinjam International Seaport, located near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is poised to become a major transshipment hub, reducing India's reliance on ports like Colombo, Singapore, and Dubai. Developed under a INR 20,000 crore investment by the Adani Group and Kerala government, the port features a natural depth of 24 meters, enabling it to accommodate Ultra Large Container Ships (ULCS). With trial operations underway since July 2024, Vizhinjam has already handled 100,000 TEUs. The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the INR 11,009 crore Phase 1 of the Vijayawada Metro, covering 38.6 km across two corridors-from Gannavaram to PNBS (25.9 km) and PNBS to Penamaluru (12.76 km). With 34 stations planned, the metro aims to ease traffic and enhance urban mobility. Land acquisition of 91 acres is underway at a cost of INR 1,152 crore. The project follows a Public-Private Partnership model, with 40% funding from the Centre. A future extension to Amaravati is also planned. The Maharashtra Government is implementing the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Housing for All (Urban)' initiative in line with the Prime Minister's vision of 'Housing for All' by 2022. The scheme includes four components: Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Affordable Rental Housing (ARH), and the Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS). A unified web portal allows for easy registration under PMAY (Urban) 2.0. Applicants must submit documents like Aadhaar, PAN, income certificate, and land records to the Social Development Department at Belapur Bhavan, Navi Mumbai. Paradip Port has emerged as India's highest cargo-handling major port, recording 145.38 million metric tonnes (MMT) in FY 2023-24, surpassing Deendayal Port. In Ahmedabad, development rights for a riverfront plot along Vallabh Sadan have increased by INR 8,824 per square metre over three months, reaching INR 26,000 per square metre in November 2024. A new request for proposal (RFP) for a food park at another Vallabh Sadan plot now sets the base price at INR 32,500 per square metre, according to the Sabarmati Riverfront Land Disposal Policy. The Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) has significantly improved east-west connectivity in Mumbai, cutting travel time between Santacruz and Chembur from nearly two hours to just 17 minutes. The ongoing extension aims to ease congestion further and introduce additional direct links. With the project cost rising to INR 650-670 crore due to delays, it features Asia's first curved cable-stayed bridge and new routes connecting Kurla to Vakola Junction and Chembur to Vile Parle. The second, 13.6-km line, will connect Golf Course Extension Road with Sector 5, covering key hubs like Ardee City and Signature Tower.
