Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has launched the Swamitva Yojana in Hamirpur, distributing property cards to 10 families from each of 11 tehsils. The welfare scheme, led by the Revenue Department, aims to give rightful ownership to villagers in Abadi Deh areas. Over 4,230 families across these 190 villages will receive property cards in the first phase. Drone-assisted mapping has covered 13,599 villages, and Hamirpur became the first district to grant these rights. Sukhu has urged citizens to give up subsidies for the state's growth and also inaugurated new infrastructure projects worth INR 7.41 crore.Read more

Mumbai's monsoon season has resulted in 16,162 reported potholes across the city, with 42% located on the Eastern and Western Express Highways. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has already filled 16,005 potholes and allocated INR 275 crore for further repairs. With major roads like the EEH and WEH seeing heavy wear and tear, the BMC is working round-the-clock to complete basic patchwork and plans to convert 400 km of roads to concrete. The Karnataka government has proposed a master plan to protect the eco-sensitive Western Ghats. As part of this plan, the government has temporarily banned any changes in land use patterns within the region. Tamil Nadu inaugurated India's first industrial housing facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Sriperumbudur, accommodating 18,720 employees. Built at INR 706.50 crore, the facility was launched by Chief Minister MK Stalin and Foxconn Chairman Young Liu. It provides secure, comfortable housing for Foxconn and other industrial workers, with dormitory-style rooms, six beds each, and 240 rooms per block. Stalin emphasized that this project sets a precedent for other states, boosting industrial growth and employment. Tamil Nadu, aiming for a USD 1 trillion economy by 2030, leads in women's employment, with Foxconn employing 35,000 women out of 41,000 workers.Read more

Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro) reports significant progress in Nagpur Metro Phase II, having acquired over 50% of the 9-hectare land required. With 80% of the land secured for construction, work on Reach 2, connecting Automotive Square to Kanhan, has commenced. The INR 6,708 crore project, funded by international institutions and government contributions, is set for completion by December 2027. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is set to finish assembling the girder for the southern arm of Andheri's Gokhale bridge by August 23, aiming to pave the railway section by November 14. The Adani Group has committed a 51% stake in the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIAL) to the State Bank of India (SBI), securing a funding facility of INR 12,770 crore for the airport's construction. R+D Studio has partnered with the 2 Engineer Regiment of the Chinar Corps to develop a modern defence bunker for the Indian Army at 14,000 feet near Razdan Pass, Jammu & Kashmir. This pilot project uses 1800 Silica Composite Hollow Blocks (SCHB), made from recycled foundry dust and plastic waste, each block weighing 7.5 kg and three times stronger than standard bricks. Constructed within three days, the bunker is designed to withstand extreme weather and enemy fire, while its eco-friendly materials promote sustainability.
