Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has acquired land in Kandla, Gujarat, to develop green hydrogen and ammonia facilities-advancing its clean energy ambitions in sync with India's National Green Hydrogen Mission. Chairman S N Subrahmanyan confirmed electrolyser manufacturing is already underway, giving L&T a first-mover edge. The company also received U.S. Department of Energy approval to transfer Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology to India, becoming one of only three Indian firms eligible. L&T plans to localise manufacturing and build proprietary tech for developing markets. Through its new subsidiary, L&T Green Energy Kandla Pvt Ltd, the company is gearing up to deliver global-scale EPC solutions in green fuels.Read more

Chennai-based real estate firm DRA has partnered with the Greater Chennai Corporation to launch a INR 1 crore beautification project on Sir V.P. Raman Road (Lloyds Road) under Tamil Nadu's "Namakku Naame" initiative. The four-month Public-Private Partnership aims to transform the bustling stretch into a sustainable, walkable, and aesthetically vibrant urban space. Planned upgrades include LED streetlights, landscaped walkways, public seating, and smart signage. The Kerala government has approved a negotiated land purchase approach to acquire 358 acres in Ayyampuzha for the much-delayed Global City project, part of the Kochi-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (KBIC). Implemented by state agency Kinfra, this move aims to bypass delays tied to traditional acquisition methods. Of the total land, 215 acres will be dedicated to industrial use. The project, crucial for regional economic integration, had earlier faced setbacks due to Union government concerns over non-industrial components. In contrast, KBIC's Palakkad-based Industrial Manufacturing Cluster has already secured approvals. The new approach may also ensure faster delivery and better compensation for landowners.Read more

The Maharashtra government has signed an MoU with Max Aerospace and Aviation to set up a INR 8,000 crore helicopter manufacturing unit in Nagpur. Work on the project is slated to begin in 2026, with the initiative expected to create around 2,000 jobs. This will be Maharashtra's first facility for complete helicopter production, marking a major milestone in India's defence manufacturing drive. The unit will incorporate global technology for integration, testing, and customisation of rotary-wing aircraft. The Odisha government has cleared eight major industrial projects worth over INR 1.51 lakh crore, expected to generate 62,000+ jobs across Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Khurda, and Sambalpur. Approved during a High-Level Clearance Authority meeting chaired by CM Mohan Charan Majhi, these ventures span aluminium, chemicals, steel, textiles, and metal sectors. Highlights include Vedanta's INR 1.28 lakh crore aluminium smelter and power plant in Dhenkanal, SRF's INR 10,000 crore chemical unit in Ganjam, and Sportking India's INR 2,055 crore textile facility in Khurda. The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has made a renewed pitch for central funding to revive the long-stalled metro extension between Noida Electronic City and Sahibabad. The 5-km Blue Line link, expected to benefit over 500,000 daily commuters from Indirapuram, Vasundhara, and Vaishali, was initially estimated at INR 1,517 crore in 2018. That figure has now jumped to INR 1,873 crore due to price escalation and expanded land acquisition. Cube Highways Trust has finalised the acquisition of two strategic highway assets in Jammu and Kashmir Quazigund Expressway Pvt Ltd and Athaang Jammu Udhampur Highway Pvt Ltd from the National Infrastructure Investment Fund. The deal, valued at INR 4,185 crore, spans approximately 80 kilometres and includes assets with over six years of remaining concession life. These highways offer assured semi-annual annuity payments from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), reducing exposure to traffic-linked risks. Following sustained protests and civic pressure, MMRDA has approved a realignment of the Borivli twin tunnel entry and exit points in Thane's Mulla Baug area. The new alignment will now route the tunnel deeper underground and extend it by 200 metres to reduce environmental and residential impact. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has approved construction of two new arms to connect the Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road (GMLR) flyover directly to the Sion-Panvel Highway. Estimated at INR 1,051 crore, the project aims to ease traffic congestion at the busy Maharashtra Nagar T-junction. Currently, the GMLR flyover lacks a direct link to the highway, forcing vehicles through bottlenecks. The new flyover arms-measuring 1.47 km and 1.93 km-will bypass this signal, offering seamless access. The extensions, standing 8.5 metres high and 620 metres long, will begin construction soon following land acquisition and approvals from the Coastal Zone Management Authority and Mangroves Department. The alignment also considers proximity to metro lines and nearby airports. An earlier plan for a third arm via the Harbour line remains stalled due to pending clearances from Central Railway.Read more
